Juande Ramos is all set to let a young defender leave White Hart Lane for Portsmouth.

The young Frenchman showed in patches last season what he is capable of, but also on occasions showed that he was not quite equipped for a role at the heart of the Tottenham defence. He has potential, but it seems that potential will be realised on the south coast and it may well be a wise move in the long run as he could well learn a thing or two from Pompey’s experienced back line of Sol Campbell and Sylvain Distin.
He will also know that, given the veteran status of these centre backs, he may well get a run in the first team far more easily than he could at White Hart Lane. Ramos has spent a great deal since he arrived in north London and he has invested well. However, he has also done a very good job of clearing out squad players and dead wood to help balance the books. Do Spurs fans think that Kaboul can make a name for himself at Fratton Park and do Portsmouth fans think that the former Auxerre man can break the Distin/Campbell pairing?
