Deco hasn’t been a Blues player for very long, but that hasn’t stopped the Portuguese playmaker from making siren-like calls to a potential Chelsea signing. You might think that the club have already got a glittering array of talent at their disposal, but it appears it’s not just the likes of Kenyon and Scolari who want to make this final transfer of the summer.
The Guardian reports that there is nothing Deco would like more (apart from world peace) than to see Robinho line up alongside him next season. The likes of Lampard, Ballack and Anelka are clearly not enough to get his juices flowing – he wants someone who can dance with the ball.
“He’s a spectacular player,” said Deco, Brazil-born himself, who has lined up against Robinho in Barcelona’s meetings with Real in recent years. “He’s got incredible skill, has magic in his feet and is capable of anything on a football pitch. His quality is amazing. It would be great if he joined us and he’d be made very welcome here.”
Nevertheless, this deal has seemingly stalled more times than a learner driver having a first lesson, and while negotiations continue between the two clubs, Chelsea won’t have been pleased to see Wesley Sneijder pick up a nasty injury at Arsenal the other day. Can the Blues land their man before 31st August deadline?
