Everton boss not giving up hope on £11.8m ACE midfielder: His top target is still in play!
by offsidetrap on August 6th, 2008After watching and waiting for the whole Andy Johnson saga to end, Everton look to be on the verge of putting to rest the whole ordeal with Fulham and their soon-to-be ex-striker. With Johnson out of the way, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is making it crystal clear that the club is now prepared to go after their top transfer target once again!

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright insists Joao Moutinho remains on David Moyes’ wish-list as the club seek their first signing of the summer.
Manager Moyes wants to bring up to half a dozen new players to the club, and Kenwright confirmed Moutinho remains on the list, despite Sporting rejecting Everton’s initial offer of £11.8million.
Kenwright said: “That is one of the ones you can believe in the papers. He is one of his (the manager’s) major targets, but there are others who have not made the papers yet, thankfully. (Daily Mail)
Well this is a bit of good news! Everton supporters have been wondering where the club would be going next in their attempt to sign Sporting ace, Joao Moutinho. It appears that Kenwright has given the supporters an answer. They will be going after him once again. While the news is exciting, the most interesting bit of information could come from Kenwright’s comment about other major transfer targets that haven’t reached the papers. Could Moyes and Co. be in line to make a fantastic swoop for someone we don’t know about?
Are Everton supporters still interested in making Moutinho their top transfer target? Who else could be on the transfer list for the club?

Why did I have to pick Everton as my club I am totally frustrated with the continuing 1 step forward 2 step backwards attitude of the heirarchy. And this is just another pep talk too keep us sweet, its Bollocks and a fan base such as our’s should not be treated in this way. Be honest from the start lets say about each April as when you take our cash for season ticket renewal money Bill and tell us to switch off untill the season starts and accept no forward planning! Another opportunity for the top four not to worry as its only Everton hunting them up and we know what they will do !!!!

Sign somebody please, otherwise we’ll be playing most of the season with the under 18’s in the main squad!
If we get Moutinho it will be a miracle, if we get Smith I’ll be devastated. The last thing we need is to sign somebody who will miss half the season due to suspension and injury.
I’m beginning to despair that we will sign anybody before the start of the season however I trust DM so I’m not giving up yet. COYB!

My club is becoming the laughing stock of Europe, why do we try & sign players we obviously can’t afford just tell us we’ve got no money at the end of each season, at least then we won’t get our hopes up ! I have always supported Blue Bill until now buy this summer he has done my head in.
