Rafa continues his spring clean and looks to offload this former Arsenal man in order to balance the books.
Alan Curbishley looks set to join the race to sign Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant according to reports coming out of the East London Club.
The English winger is believed to be valued at around £7million, and West Ham believe they can pip Blackburn to signing the former Arsenal player.
Pennant is a player that Reds boss Rafael Benitez would like to sell as he looks to raise funds to finance a bid for long-term target Gareth Barry. (Kop-tv.com)
This Liverpool wide man has been linked with a few clubs this summer and even though Pennant has had some run outs in the pre season friendlies he is clearly surplus to requirements at Anfield. This could be a good move for both parties, Jermaine is by no means a bad player it just seems he is stuck in a rut and a new challenge at Upton Park could well suit him down to the ground and could edge him nearer to the England set up. Whilst Pennant has had some off field problems he is still clearly able to perform on the field its just that during his spell at Liverpool he has been horribly inconsistent and therefore very likely to be sold in order to generate funds. Do West Ham fans think that Pennant would be a good signing?
