Mr. Wenger has cleverly kept his eyes on this impressive Barcelona midfielder and is now ready to pounce for the Ivorian!
ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger is keeping tabs on Barcelona’s Yaya Toure.
The brother of Emirates defender Kolo Toure has slipped down the pecking order at the Nou Camp since the arrival of Seydou Keita.
And the man from Sevilla is now first choice as Barca’s holding midfielder.
But Wenger could move for 25-year-old Ivory Coast Yaya to boost his Premier League title chances.
The Gunners had a chance to sign Yaya for virtually nothing when he was with Belgian club Beveren before he signed for the Spanish giants. (News of the World)
Given that it appears Barcelona’s new boss Pep Guardiola has deemed Yaya not to be the first choice in the holding role at the Camp Nou, it’s very wise that the Arsenal boss is keeping an eye on Kolo’s brother. It’s been well documented that the north London club have lost a chunk of its midfield during the summer, and whilst they have some great youngsters coming through to fill these roles, having an experienced and talented player like Yaya to depend on could be a very intelligent purchase.
The 12m-rated midfielder has been around the block so to speak, plying his trade in Belgium, France, Greece and the Ukraine. Even though he only arrived at Barca a year ago, recent signings by the Catalan giants have made many question his future at the club and hence the intense speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League. Do Gunners fans think that Yaya could be a top notch addition to the Emirates first team?
