Reading reject joins Crystal Palace: Eagles swoop for two attacking midfielders

I’m in the minority of people who actually like Neil Warnock, having tremendous respect for the Crystal Palace manager’s achievements within the game. Indeed, there can be few people who have a greater knowledge of the Championship and the former Blades boss has today landed a couple of new players for his Eagles squad, which should go some way to preventing too many more blank sheets.

The BBC report that John Oster has arrived at Selhurst Park, someone who played in fits and starts for Reading. The second name to arrive is Leandre Griffit, who has previously played for Southampton, Leeds and Rotherham.

“John gives us that little bit of experience especially away from home,” Eagles boss Neil Warnock told the club’s website.

Warnock said: “Griffit is a player that has been recommended to me. He is a very positive lad.

“He likes to run at people, plays left, right or in behind the striker and is just a good acquisition really.”

Palace fans, are you excited about these signings or slightly uninspired by the acquisitions? Surely a striker is required to replace Clinton Morrison, with James Scowcroft and Sean Scannell not exactly the most intimidating front pairing right now?
