Is Chelsea ace on way to Liverpool instead of Villa midfielder?

Fresh from staring into their crystal ball, The Daily Mail reckons Joe Cole could be on his way to Anfield.
Yes, the diminutive one has apparently failed to impress new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and Liverpool, in need of a decent wing-man, have apparently declared an interest in the England midfielder.
Cole fears he will be frozen out of the starting XI when the Barclays Premier League season starts against Portsmouth on Sunday and he has also been spooked by the potential arrival of Robinho, says The Mail.
The Mail adds that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, who doesn’t seem to have the backing of the club’s owners over the fee for Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry, “is prepared to make a move if Chelsea indicate a willingness to sell.”
The arrival of Scolari’s golden boy Deco, who has been the club’s best player during the their double training sessions under Scolari, and the rehabilitation of Shaun Wright-Phillips may well have pushed Cole towards the exit.
After Benitez’s rather spurious comments the other day about an unnamed English player who could ”Maybe … play in three different positions - that is a positive thing” everyone assumed he meant Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry. In the light of the Mail’s revelation, it could well be that Joe Cole is the target. After all, he is also quite capable of playing on the left, the right or in a central attacking role. Hell, he could probably even play in goal!
So how about it Liverpool fans? Is Joe Cole on his way to Anfield? Or have The Daily Mail been out in the sun for too long?

A massive signing if it can happen but i just cant see chelski selling him to us i was gutted when he went to chelski because we were linked to him when they pounced with there never ending pot.If rafa can pull this one off it will be a very important signing i dont like saying we will win the league but it could put us in the mix and thats what is important.

Cole to the reds would be an awseome move for both parties. Imagine Cole being able to play in front of a real crowd with an understanding of footy rather than a bunch of morons like ‘cc’ with his rather sad upbringing and terrible grammer.
Cole would love to play at Anfield, but would the Chelsea lot allow it - unfortunately i doubt it. Just another waste of talent warming the bench while earning silly £££££££££

They’re the most successful club in English history and are 7th in the world on FIFA club rankings. Aston Villa were too far down the list to even find and you’re the mental health case if you think Villa can get in the top four in 2 years.

Although Joe Cole would be a great signing for Liverpool I can’t see him coming to us, or Chelski letting him come to us. I think they would sooner sell to West Ham, or abroad. We need a out and out Left winger. I may get a new ass riped for this, But here goes. I quite liked what i saw of Witsel or Standard Liege. In the Mid field Kaka’s younger brother Digao also with Liege, although he has been loaned out by his club AC Milan to Standard Liege for one season. Could be some real bargin buy’s here.
