Blackburn defender hands in transfer request - on his way to Newcastle?
by stresster on August 13th, 2008Brad Friedel and David Bentley have already jumped the good ship Blackburn Rovers this summer, and there now appears to be a third exit on the horizon. It appeared that Paul Ince had retained the services of all key players bar the above pair, although an important defensive player has now stated he wants to leave Ewood Park.
The Daily Mail reports that Stephen Warnock is set to join Newcastle, after the Magpies bid £2.5 million for his services. The former Liverpool defender has been an impressive performer for Rovers after the past couple of seasons and Kevin Keegan is clearly eager to strengthen things in defence. The question is, will Blackburn stop the transfer going ahead?
Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock has handed in a transfer request at Ewood Park after Newcastle made an offer of around £2.5m for the England international.
Sportsmail revealed on Monday how the former Liverpool defender has grown unsettled at Blackburn and was keen to talk to Newcastle.
Newcastle fans, are you delighted to hear the news that there might be another arrival at St James’ Park? The ex-Liverpool defender has made 50 appearances for Blackburn since arriving at the club eighteen months ago for £1.5 million. Will he now become a regular for the Magpies instead?

Perhaps a little optimistic azza, but Warnock would be a good signing. I don’t think an 8th place finish is out of reach, but nobody’s kicked a ball yet, so there’s no point in speculating unless you’re a gambler.

That has got to be the worst bullshit report, following the mirrors exclusive that i have ever read. First off the mirror record of reporting correct infomation is about 20% truth and 80% bull. You picked up on a tabloid snippet. Then wrote about a signed deal, no retraction when there is a follow up from the himself.
This is the worst dirt sheet for football i have ever read
