Berbatov is off, so who should Spurs bring in?
by KevinBoatang on August 14th, 2008The incredible sulk is off for what looks like a good price for Tottenham, but it throws up the question of who (or is it whom? Damn my common ways) Spurs should buy.

I think Ramos and Levy already know the answer to this. From the day Ramos joined he would have known that Berba was going to do one and he would have prepared for this. According to reports earlier in the season Juande even called the player into his office and told him to jog on, his attitude was not what he wanted in his team no matter how good he is.
Keane, however, was not expected to leave and it is this that has thrown a spanner into the works, although the midfield acquisitions would suggest that Keane’s role was to be very different this season and his loss seems to be already covered.
So who is it that Ramos has told Levy he wants to replace Berbatov? I think Arshavin is well wide of the mark, he may be wanted, but not in this sense. Bent is very much a Ramos player and would have been earmarked straight away, but a proper striker, rather than a Keane-esque player like Arshavin, is needed.
Eto’o is staying at Barca after they realised he is a bit good, but it is David Villa remains a possibility and it is Villa I believe a serious bid will be made for within the week.

Again im forced to correct this website.
Tottenham have upped the price for berba to 32 mil as they are angry that man u claimed the deal was near done!
Looney Toon - August 14th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Huntelaar is a proven goal scorer.
Freddie - August 14th, 2008 at 8:53 am
To Dom, maybe you should call the police? If someone is forcing you to correct this website that has surely got to be against the law? Do they have your kids? are they holding you at gunpoint? That’s harsh, do they want some sort of ransom?

I reckon we should sell Berbatov for £32 million and then use the money to buy Santa Cruz and Kanoute. These 2 players are very good strikers and would give us decent cover up front alongside Bent. I can see us potentially not playing 2 up front anyway so having 3 good strikers plus Pekhart (sp?) as back up would be more than ok.

i do poo’s on eto’s face then after i stick a sulky wee up berbatovs penile tube
joe - August 14th, 2008 at 10:25 am
we dont need kanoute he is nearly 31 and will cost top dollar and he didnt set spurs alight first time round ashavin is a must and i would either go for villa or huntellaar and two good defenders for cover this would push us close to the top four we stronger than last year even if berba goes he was never consistent he only wanted to play when he felt like it keane will be missed more
Dave - August 14th, 2008 at 10:26 am
Kanoute is a cart horse, he was useless at Spurs first time round, unless you think finishing mid table and never looking likely to do anything else acceptable. Don’t go backwards, lets look forward. We need young, quick, hard working (Kanoute was as lasy as the sulky one) forwards.
We need Arshavin to come in and replace Keane as a second striker and give Bent his head. That makes it difficult because if we bring another striker in of the right quality then they are going to have to spend time on the bench whilst Bent gets his chance. To deny him that after the pre-season he has had would be ridiculous, but we need cover should he get injured, or not reproduce in the prem.

Let us hold on to Berbatov. After all, how sure are we to be able to get Arshavin, Villa, Kanoute, Santa Cruz or Huntelaar. If we let Berbatov go, there is always the danger that we may find ourselves short of a striker at the start of the season which is almost upon us and this could be disastrous for Spurs. So, let us act wisely.

IT HAS TO BE ! IT MUST BE ! HUNTELAAR WITHOUT DOUBT THE BEST POUND FOR POUND GOALSCORER ON THE PLANET THE NEW NESTLEROOY , DAVID VILLA IS A TREMENDOUS GOALSCORER BUT HE IS A SMALL STRIKER HE WOULD BE MY IDEAL SECOND CHOICE , ARSHAVIN MUST BE GOT FOR SURE HE IN MY MIND WOULD BE A BETTER WORKER THAN KEANE AND A PRETTY GOOD SCORER AS WELL BUT HIS ASSISTS TO HUNTELAAR WOULD BE SENSATIONAL , CORLUKA IS THE JIG SAW COMPLETED A GREAT CENTRE BACK AND WOULD BRING ANOTHER DIMENTION TO THE ENTIRE DEFENCE . COYS YOU KNOW THIS MAKES SENSE WE WILL GET THE REWARDS BACK TEN FOLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dimitar Berbatov,
He’s gone and fukt off,
Keano gone all Scouse on us,
But we got Dos Santos
Sir Alan Sweetner - August 14th, 2008 at 11:04 am
WHEN we sell Berbatov, we definitely should buy Huntelaar. Kanoute is too old and overated, Eto and Villa won’t come to Spurs and Santa Cruz isn’t good enough for Spurs. I think Huntelaar will end up being even better than Van Nisterooy.
Stan - August 14th, 2008 at 11:04 am
oh and Huntelaar for me
proud - August 14th, 2008 at 11:16 am
We should buy Thierry Henry!
Norseyid - August 14th, 2008 at 11:39 am
We need a targetman type of striker! Ashton or Pavlyuchenko would do it! Maybe bring both in..Bent, Ashton, Pavluychenko..what a strikeforce that would be!
JON! - August 14th, 2008 at 11:52 am
If we sign Ashton I’m killing myself, its survival of the “fittest”, he miss heard it…
Bilal - August 14th, 2008 at 11:59 am
sorry for what about to say in advance but can someone please tell me why Daniel levy keeps playing this stupid game with every team we try to do business with. berba -off is worth according to reports 32m and Mr levy wants the full wack yet when we try to buy Arshavin all of a sudden its far to much as far as im concerned just make a quick compromise and get rid of berba-off other wise we are stuck with a player who will even try to play for us we cant have it both ways and its the side and its supporter that will ultimately suffer take the money and run no player is that good. thats why its called a team game it take 11 players not 10 and a sulkier good by and good riddance to the incredible sulk as far as im concerned the king is dead long live the king
Gentleman01 - August 14th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
Bilal, Levy would be happy to do business over berba for 25m if the club he was selling to was foreign. I hope Levy makes united pay through the nose for berba. There is no way we can compete with the top 4 if we continually sell our best players to them. Levy is doing the right thing in my opinion, in fact I’d go one further and tell berba he can leave but not to a prem club, then I’d ring ol’ red nose fergie up and kindly tell him to fuck off
Borat - August 14th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Id rather have a camel than Ashton. It has to be Huntelaar!
Anonymous - August 14th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
If we are realistic, we will not get Villa or Huntelaar, Kanoute’s too old, Arshavin worries me, as no-one else seems to be chasing him now!!!!
Why don’t we bid on SANTA CRUZ, half the price of the others, still very young, and proven with inferior supply to our current midfield!!!
Borat - August 14th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Bila and Gentleman If I might suggest it, I believe that DL is doing this to make selling to the top 4 work. If we can get 20 mill for Keane and 32 for Berba then I have no problem with being called a feeder club as those funds in the hands of JR will be used wisely. Sir red nose would be laffin all the way to the bank if he got Berba for the 20 mill he was trying to so I am glad that DL is making him pay. If the top 4 want our stars then let them pay and we will use the money to replace and strengthen with the profit. I agree with anon that we could not get Villa but Huntelaar we most definitley could get. At 24 hes not yet fully matured to that 26-28 age range that the top flight like so we can get 4 years out of him and then sell at a profit if Sir red nose comes knocking.
Spurs Dude - August 14th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Def NO to Freddy coming back, too old and not good the 1st time round.
Agree with all those that say BERBS should not be sold to MANURE for less than 30 mill.
If Levy IS thinking of VILLA again, he’d better get a move on, he’s on the verge of signing a new deal with Valencia isn’t he ???.
VILLA or SANTA CRUZ or the HUNTER for me!!!!
