Hamburg coach Martin Jol has vowed to bring in some new faces this month, and had reportedly had an offer for Dirk Kuyt turned down by Liverpool as they were asking for a hefty £16million, which annoyed the ex-Tottenham manager.
But now he thinks he can get a good deal out of Benitez by buying the out-of-favour striker Andriy Voronin for a bargain £6million. (footylatest.com)
The Ukrainian has been a disappointment since his long protracted arrival last summer. He started brightly enough and then faded badly and now he is pretty low down in the pecking order and a move from the club would be best for all parties given that, at 29, he will not be keen on warming the bench. If the Merseyside club can get £6m for the former Leverkusen man then I am sure it will be gratefully received! Do Liverpool fans feel that Andriy got a fair crack of the whip at the club and was just not good enough?
