Zenit St Petersburg have told Tottenham that they will not sell Andrei Arshavin, the Russia playmaker, for less than £20 million. “It is take it or leave it,” Dennis Lachter, Arshavin’s agent, said. “That is the final price.” (Times Online)

Apparently following the north London side’s decision to not continue to pursue Arshavin, his Zenit side decided one last time to reach a compromise by dropping their asking price a tad. Will this lead to a firm bid from Tottenham for the impressive Russian, I am not sure it will? I think that they believe Andrei is not worth such an exorbitant fee and they would do well to haggle some more as they will not want to end up stuck with an unhappy player and are more likely to sell him for a little less.

Zenit are in many ways being held over a barrel in much the same way Manchester United are trying to coax a smaller valuation for Dimitar Berbatov. At least either way this will be resolved in the next two weeks! Do Spurs fans think they should match the asking price for AA or give up?
