Ah, bless him! Harry Redkapp is obviously struggling to come up with any new tactics and has no new major signings in the offing. That’s why he’s had a blast at rivals Alex Ferguson and Phil Scolari. Still obviously reeling from Sunday’s 4-0 hammering at the hands of Chelsea, the Pompey boss has decided to go on the offensive and play a bit of mind games with the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Big Phil Scolari.

According to The Sun, Harry reckons managing mega-rich clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea — with their huge transfer kitties — is so easy his wife Sandra could do it (source).

Redknapp, who regularly struggles to afford anyone outside the bargain basement, said:

“Any mug can go and buy loads of players for £20-30million.

“We could all buy the best players in the world if we had an open cheque book — my wife could go and buy Kaka.

“But what I’m doing is called managing a football club.

“I love looking around for loans and free transfers. I really enjoy that side of the job because that is real managing.

“So I will carry on trying to beg, borrow and steal to get one or two bodies who might do well for us.

“Clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea don’t have to do that — good luck to them.”

Er…and you weren’t slightly interested in the recent Newcastle job, eh Harry? With the promise of a few more pennies to spend? No, not at all….

Still, you can’t help but admire the man. After all, he did win the FA Cup last year with a bunch of geriatrics like David James, Sol Campbell, Kanu and Djimi Traore. Here’s to another season of wheeling and dealing, eh Harry?
