Tottenham are getting ready to off-load midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Boateng was signed by Martin Jol from German outfit Hertha Berlin last summer but has not impressed new boss Juande Ramos and looks to be heading for the exit door.
The former Spurs boss, who is now in charge of Hamburg, is believed to be interested in re-signing him
Ramos is looking to trim his squad numbers and is ready to take a loss on the £4.5million that Jol splashed out. (Eatsleepsport.com)
Boateng was one of the last signings that former boss Martin Jol made and, when he arrived, many had hoped he would be a signing of real promise. However, that potential is yet to be fulfilled and he hasn’t figured too much in the club’s plans since Juande took over from the Dutchman.
Its no surprise that Hamburg have made their interest known. as BMJ has apparently been linked with a handful of his former charges. No doubt the German Under-21 international would be keen for a Bundesliga return, as it could boost his chances of a first full cap. He is unlikely to make much more of an impact at White Hart Lane, so I would expect he would leave the club as soon as a bid in the region of £4m is made, which is a very fair price for a young player with potential.
Have Spurs fans been in the slightest bit impressed with the Prince?

LOAN HIM OUT
Just like KABOUL he an U21 capitain of a strong footballing nation.
We are being very rash and stupid just cutting losses on tallented young players.
The next would be to get rid of Lennon because he is not the best crosser. He is just 21!!!!!! he is learning and still the quickest and best dribbler we have and proven in the premiership and for england….
COYS… think before offloading anyone under the age of 28
Bob The Yid - August 21st, 2008 at 2:50 am
Lennon is well different from likes of Prrine and Kaboul. We do have to cut losses, get the off wage bill and gather what money can be claimed and put back in coffers. Do think Levy has realised that Comolli is not be trusted on his judgement of players to take the club forward anymore.
H0TSPUR - August 21st, 2008 at 4:04 am
With all the attacking choice we have in the middle the prince will never get a game.. Simple as that!! If we were a top four club then people like prince, kaboul etc etc would not be sold and would have featured in the league cup. But as the league cup is our only chance (possible uefa) to win something it has to be first team squad every game in evry competition - but, still as it stands without the correct signings we have no chance in winning anything (and I used to be the eternal optimist when it came to spurs - NOT ANYMORE)!!! Unless we sign a D, DM & CF we have no balance, no steady defence, no threat upfront and therefore NO CHANCE!!!
CB - August 21st, 2008 at 4:36 am
Hotsour, Good comment. I agree with what you say. We badly need some balance and hsquad needs trimming and improving. I believe that Ramos knows that we need a DM and D. IF what certain ITK’s are saying IS true, we are just waiting for certain clubs to find replacements for their players before we can sign them. This is why we appear not to be reacting in the transfer market.
I think top 6 is realistic and if we get a settled side maybe battle for 4th. We still do not know how to win Ugly and that is why top 4 maybe out o f our reach
Yidsman - August 21st, 2008 at 6:11 am
Boateng did not fit the bill as a DM, he is too slow and a bit like Jackson of a couple of seasons ago IE Because of the “slowness” they end up giving up freekicks in dangerous areas of the pitch. And we all know how well we have defended set plays over the last couple of years.
I think two of the players we have sold could have been useful IE
Kaboul
One mistake and a silly outburst in the close season. He should have gone to loan
Malbranque
A hard working journeyman who played well for us week in week out last season. He could well return to hurt us this weekend.
FINALLY YET AGAIN
JENAS,
HOW THE HELL DOES HE GET IN THE ENGLAND TEAM YET ALONE SPURS
AS I HAVE SAID MANY TIMES HE LOSES THE BALL IN CRITICAL AREAS OF THE PITCH, HE IS LAZY AND DOES NOT TRACK BACK.
PLEASE RAMOS PUT HIM OUT TO GRASS
H0TSPUR - August 21st, 2008 at 6:49 am
CB, top six is still a realistic target I agree - but even to acheive this I think we are going to need Everton, Portsmouth etc to have a few slip ups along the way. As many of us still are confused why we haven’t been more heavily linked to Veloso? Does anyone actually know?? I don’t think he has come out and stated that he doesn’t want to come?? I completely agree that Malbranque should never have been sold - he aint world class but he does alright and on his day he creates and scores from midfield. He will come back to haunt us! I have an uneasy feel for Sunderland - I think they will be well up for it with all the X players and will think they can get a result! Lets show em that they travelled a hell of a long way for nothing!!! We may be far from the finished article but surely we cant get beat at home off a load of Geordie Wannabees!!

I hope we will do well this season, but as I told a friend the other day Tottenham do best in off season. Expectations are bringing us down every season. I think we have started with away matches every year lately, it’s hard to do well away and I think we have been a bit unfortunate here. Stop complaining about Jenas he has just become better and better and now he is selected for England. The last seasons he and Malbranque have been our best attacking midfielders. This season I expect a change based on the quality we have brought in, but they need to settle. About the transfer market I hope we sign a top class defensive midfielder. We are a bit short on strikers, but I say lets do with Bent, and use a moody Berbatov and an inspired Pechart when needed I’ sure Bent won’t let us down. Prince was supposed to be an excellent def mid prospect, he should compete with Zokora. Gunter should play RB instead of Zokora. bzzzz
gico - August 21st, 2008 at 8:06 am
Totataly bemused why zakora is playing RB. Do you think that one of the more creative CM players would have made way for zokora if hutton was fit?
Abe - August 21st, 2008 at 9:06 am
I find the bit saying Jol wants him as crazy. He barely played for Jol whereas when Ramos first came in, Prince was given many opportunities. Either they don’t rate him as a player or something off the field happened. It is upsetting that we have missed out on so many good players in the last few years. I would think Commoli is largely responsible here. Eg Distin and Diarra going to Portsmouth and not getting Ashley Young when he clearly preferred us.
Bristol Spurs - August 21st, 2008 at 9:43 am
Another loss on another Comoli signing.
How can you perform that badly and keep your job.
We should NEVER have sold Steed, we have lost the only two players who gave 100% every game; Steeeed and Keane.
Red agent; “COMOLI OUT!”
calvo - August 21st, 2008 at 9:56 am
wud have to agree wif Yidsman, when it comes to Jenas.it baffles me as to how he has played so many top flight games.it wud be him as much as any in the spurs midfield that i wud be looking to sell.as he doesnt score that many, doesnt tackle, doesnt assist.really theres not much that he does do.i may be horribly wrong but i can only say what i see and thats not much!
edwhitewell - August 21st, 2008 at 11:08 am
Spurs will not be qualifying for anything this season, apart from relegation dog-fight if this severely unbalanced squad is given the players it so desperately needs. A RB cover, CB, 2 DMs, LW and 2 Strikers. If the addition of new players is left to Comolli, then we have’nt got a hope in hell.
Simon - August 21st, 2008 at 11:45 am
Commoli out he is bloody useless we will always be light years behind arsenal and the other big three so its mid table mediocracy again get lost commoli u r fuckin useless!!
joe - August 21st, 2008 at 12:29 pm
not impressed with comoli hes been their long enough to buy the right players we seem have to them twelve months and then sold for a loss thats no way to run a football club. we definately need 4 or 5 more players to strengthen the team malbranque kaboul chimbonda should not have been sold and boating also could be on his way whats going on…………
east lower yid - August 21st, 2008 at 4:17 pm

CarloSpur - August 22nd, 2008 at 11:56 am
This is what happens when you sign ex Arsenal staff. Camoli is just laughing away as he p*sses all our money up the wall!!
Then he’s secretly slipping away and being patted on the head by Wenger..
CAMOLI OUT!!!!
camoli - August 22nd, 2008 at 4:56 pm
yes dats right i enjoy screwin spuds sellin their good players and buyin overated one so they could get relegated while me arsene and david dein have a cup of tea and laugh about it gooners for life ………..
SpursEd4Life - August 22nd, 2008 at 8:25 pm
Dear, Yidsman, Calvo and all other Jermaine Jenas haters, he gets picked for England and Spurs because past and present managers with vast knowledge and experience get paid millions of pounds a week to pick the best players , whereas you write on blogs and get paid nothing for your mad rants !!
dungbert - August 25th, 2008 at 12:12 am
look i hate your team with a passion i think your all a bunch of muppets, but your biggest mistake was getting rid of steed malbranque, the guy is a potent attacking force but for the muppets who say kaboul will be a loss you guys are kidding he has got to be the biggest waste of space i have ever seen he wouldn’t get a start in the malaysian league thats how bad he is i’m just glad he chose to go to pompey over my team the villa
