Spurs to move for VERY IMPRESSIVE £4m youngster: Can they beat Newcastle to the punch?!
by Mr Comfort on August 20th, 2008He may not be a household name but he has helped his country to the chance of a medal at the Olympics and this wing back is on the Tottenham radar!

Tottenham face competition from Newcastle for AZ Alkmaar’s Belgium international Sebastien Pocognoli.
Spurs’ out-of-favour left-back Lee Young-Pyo could become the makeweight in a deal for the 21-year-old wing-back, who impressed in the Olympics. (Mail Online)
Tottenham are believed to be chasing AZ Alkmaar’s young Belgian international Sebastien Pocognoli, who is currently on duty and winning rave reports at the Olympics.
The Dutch side are keen on out-of-favour South Korean left-back Lee Young-Pyo and a swap could be arranged. (The Metro)
The £4m-rated Belgian international is said to be on Damien Comolli’s wish list and, if the capture of the left-sided player could also be completed by using Spurs full-back Lee, then Ramos can kill two birds with one stone. AZ coach Van Gaal will be keen to keep the youngster at the club, given his side’s poor showing last term but he may lose the fight. Do Spurs fans think they can beat Newcastle, who are also said to be keen on the former Genk man, to the signing?

The media don’t really know who NUFC are after because they dont get told, so where did this come from? They know we are after a LB and just put 2 and 2 together and got this guy. borrring
Even if we are interested, whats to say Tottenham are? Seems to me that since the Modric saga, any player NUFC/Spurs are interested in the media automatically drums up a story about how we are competing fwith each other for the players signature. again, borrrrrrrrrrrring

Kammo - August 20th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
The kid is nothing special, I live in Holland and he’s a nobody….one or 2 good performances so far that have caught the eye but nothing else. Newcastle are pushing for Lahm, Huntelaar and Burdisso is what I hear in the rumour mill this side of the pond.
to kammo? - August 20th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
to kammo….nufc for Lahm? LOL grow up and loosen those clogs of yours, why would phillippe lahm (been in world X1 for last 2 seasons) whos currently at bayern munich (top of german league) go to newcastle? IF he were to leave at all wouldn’t it be to UTD, madrid, or one of the other european giants? Newcatle? LOL! same as huntelaar! your completely retarded! up the pool! YNWA
Timbo - August 20th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Kammo…..If the TOON get JK Huntelaar i’m gonna come to Utrecht for a week and celebrate by drinking every one of them beers at Cafe Belgie.

JTHOWELL - August 20th, 2008 at 6:21 pm

mark - August 20th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
huntelar to the barcodes, are you having a laugh. he is one of the best players in europe so why would he go to one of the worst teams in the prem. silly geordies.stick to your guthries and your beyes
cradfo - August 20th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
Guthrie, who has played consistently well in every game he’s played for N.U.F.C.
I think we might stick well with talented players, good idea genius.
What a tool.
valle - August 20th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Well Huntelaar and Lahm to NUFC sounds more realistic to me than Tevez and Macherano to West Ham does… I agree that its a long shot, but then again weirder things have happened and there is no reason in shooting the poor guy down for repeating what the rumours in Holland says
supersuperspurs - August 20th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
We dont need him or want him, and although i hate MAN URE UTD i found it very funny how some barecode numpty says they drew with them on opening day……………………correct me if im wrong but didnt MAN URE UTD play there reserve team???
ledleydaking - August 20th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
supersuperspurs: i will correct your grammer when you mean THEIR reserve team
think we did the same… with
DAWS- in for KING
ZAKORA in for GUNTER (hutton’s replacement)
BENTLEY in for a LM
GIOVANNI in for Berbs
LENNON in for Bentley
BTW- we have quite a few LB… so don’t need this bloke
he was crap against Nigeria in the 4-2 thrashing…
CB needed… barcodes can have him OR yippie lee if they want
cradfo - August 20th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
That’s right you correct his “Grammer” suckyspurs
And leave it to us Newcastle supporters to correct your “Grammar”.
Anyway, I thought Spurs only had a reserve team…..
Kammo - August 20th, 2008 at 7:54 pm

Subs: Harper, N’Zogbia, Milner, Butt, Duff, Viduka, Burdisso
Kammo - August 20th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
The barcodes have a better squad than ours by a mile….(I’m spurs btw)
UTD111 - August 20th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Superspud - when United drew with Manure at the weekend we had a few players missing - Owen, Viduka etc
Manure didnt play their reserves - unless your dumb cockney brain counts the likes of Giggs, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic, etc as reserves.
Thick spud - u lot know nowt. (enjoyed weein on you 4-1 at your place last season btw LOL)
JP...from The Rock of Gibrlaltar - August 20th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Kammo - If the rumors are true, 1 - 10 with 10 being the highest probability, at what rate do you see the moves for each one???
DublinYid - August 20th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Well done to the board for noy paying £24 Mil for smooth bum. The Zenith board verbally promised him if a bit up to £12 came in for him, he could go.
He’s a good player, but I would be sick if we paid that sort of money for him. I believe Zenith are just as rich as chelski, so they were just pissing us about I guess.
To Kammo - August 20th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
JTHOWELL - You may have drawn with utd, but where did u come last season in the EPL? howabout the CL? exactly. I’m a l’pool boy thru and thru but you must be deluded if you do not consider utd to be a european ‘giant’, but yet u think huntelaar and lahm would turn down the hundreds of better clubs than the barcodes just so they can join them? Jonas looks good but he’ll leave next season, and Owen on 140k a week? you got OWEND!
davspurs - August 20th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
how can newcastle 75 millon unpaid transfers buy anybody and man city being reported for not paying installements be looking for strikers the prem should act before insolvancy comes calling credit crunch my arse

Newcastle owes 27 million in transfer payments, not 75 and they have not been paid because they are not due yet.

why is it that all Spurs fans are retarded and speak without knowing any facts whatsoever?
I suspect that it’s part of their giant inferiority complex because they support such a shite club.
Looney Toon! - August 21st, 2008 at 5:50 am
What all this about spuds and geordies having a go at each other? Come on the topic is about some mediocre left back from belgium! Whoever newcastle buys isnt spuds problem eh? What is there to shout about if you finish 1 or 2 places above us? Spending more quid than we do anyways. Owen is a waste of geordies $, i have to agree on that…..
TTT - August 21st, 2008 at 7:38 am
I just know that I always look forward to play spurs regardless how crap our team is or poor our form is. I will always bet big (1k above in euros) as it has yearned me good money every time; like my fellow trader colleagues say, its almost a 100% risk free investment.
spyro - August 21st, 2008 at 9:29 am
TTT-hilarious. i always look forward to winning trophies(something the barcodes havent done in my parents lifetime let alone mine) yet you just look forward to playing spurs. Shows you how far apart the 2 teams are if playing us is the highlight of your season.
spyro - August 21st, 2008 at 9:35 am
anonymous 5-27am. - shit clubs go 50 odd year spells without winning trophies(ala newcastle). So why would spurs have an inferiority complex with newcastle.Even leicester, portsmouth, leeds, blacburn, coventry and wimbledon have had more recent success than the barcodes.
1 point against man yoo and the silly geordies are now thinking they will qualify for europe. Lets wait at least 5 games to see how your team is doing. Bottom half and no trophies again for the jokers of england!
Rich - August 21st, 2008 at 10:17 am
Newcastle will finish in the top 6 this season mark my words
spyro - August 21st, 2008 at 11:41 am
RICH- what are you basing that on.A shit squad cant perform miracles. But i guess you are basing it on kk being this great motivator blah blah blah.. heard the same crap when he was at city, fulham and england. the man is a joke and thats why he suits the barcodes.
Rab - August 21st, 2008 at 12:02 pm
I dont think either Spurs or NUFC are after this guy. Just media bollocks! To me spurs and NUFC seem very much alike. They think like a top 4 team but dont produce results like one.
Smell the coffee - August 21st, 2008 at 12:08 pm
HE’S NOT THE MESSIAH,
HE’S A VERY NAUGHTY BOY
Sir Edgar Allen Poe - August 21st, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Mark - Stick with our Guthries and Beyes we would, if they were cloned. Because they’re bloody class.
It’s so easy to believe the hype about the top 4’s pulling power and it makes commoners like Mark assume (as their brains are too small to cope with theorising any other scenario) that players like JKH, Lahm et al would automatically discount a move to ANY OTHER CLUB.
For your information, Newcastle United are, and will be, a quality Premiership team. 50,000 a week through the gates, top facilities, awesome stadium and a billionaire owner who is now getting his hands out of his pockets.
What a bag of pricks this guy and his other cohorts on here are.
Sir Edgar Allen Poe - August 21st, 2008 at 12:41 pm
Spyro - fuck me, you’re absolutely right. What a school of arses we Newcastle fans are for believing we have a good team capable of competing with the mighty Tottenham Hotspurs. Jeeeezas, thanks for putting us all right.
I can just about cope with being seen as the ‘jokers of England’ as you so candidly describe us. But I have to admit, I’d find it real hard coping with being a prized cunt like you.
dave - August 21st, 2008 at 1:44 pm
spyro what a nob u really are honestly you aint got a clue.we are a much bigger club than any1else outside top four and our history proves this you cock!!!! we are the only club to have got into the champs league and performed.erm have spurs ever been there……….oops forgot have you fuck.fucking shite cockney twats
George - August 23rd, 2008 at 10:43 am
You Are All So Fucking Stupid. Newcastle, Are Without A Shadow Of A Doubt A Big Club, And I Love Them. However Spurs Are A Better Team Than Us, But I Loved Our 4-1 Thrashing Of Them At White Hart Lane. Great Ambitions, No Rewards, I Think Spurs Will Be At Least 5th, Maybe Taking Over Arsenal At 4th.
I’d Love To See Hunteelar At The Club Aswell As Lahm, But They Will Not Come, Why Would You Go To Newcastle When You Have Sir Alex Fergursons Team After You? Because He Is One Of The All Time Greats! I Can’t Wait To See Joey Barton Come Back And Prove Every1 Wrong, And Become A Great Player! Keane At Man U Had The Same Sort Of Aggresion As Barton Has! Also I Seen A Photo Of Berbatov With A NEWCASTLE SHIRT FROM ‘99…HE SUPPORTS NEWCASTLE. LOOK IN THIS WEEKS MOTHDAY MAGAZINE. LOVE TO SEE HIM HERE!!
cradfo - August 23rd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Watching Spurs being a better team than Newcastle is mesmerizing stuff.
Getting beaten by Sunderland at home, how are Newcastle going to top that?
