Derby County have signed Arsenal attacker Nacer Barazite on-loan. The 18-year-old Dutch Under-19 international has made two senior appearances for the Gunners, both coming in the Carling Cup.
Barazite has featured in several pre-season games with Arsenal, scoring once in a 2-1 win over Barnet.
“He is an exciting prospect and a very good footballer,” boss Paul Jewell told the club’s website.
He continued: “I am quite keen to get a link-up with some top teams and I spoke to [Arsenal boss] Arsene Wenger over the summer about a few players.
“Nacer is young but has played in their first-team and he will come here to join up with our first-team squad.” (tribalfootball.com)
Many Arsenal fans see this Dutch youngster as one of their brightest hopes, and Paul Jewell has done a good job persuading Arsene to let the teenager join his Pride Park side until the end of year. The striker, who can also play as attacking midfielder behind the front men, has shown in the Gunners reserves just what a prospect he is and started pre-season with a bang by scoring at Underhill.
He is sure to be a player who will frighten the Championship defenders to death, and I expect that if given the chance to get a run in the starting eleven, he will help the Rams in their push for a quick return to the Premier League. Barazite is one for the future who could well become a Gunners star in a year or two. Do Arsenal supporters believe he could creep back on to the Gunners first team bench before the end of the season?

Barazite is a fantastic young player with bags of potential. He proven himself in the reserves with a great goals and assists tally last year. I hope he does well for Derby and they should be happy with Nacer.

exactly what wenger should be doing… barazite to derby, traore portsmouth.. gibbs, randall and merida have gone on loan too.
loans enable young players to get a feel for playin football in different leagues against different clubs on a regular basis…. which overall improves the youngsters for us to use later in their careers when they flourish. add the fact we get paid for it then u gotta be happy with that.
wenger is a genius!
