Well this surely isn’t the type of news you want if you’re an Everton supporter. After waiting around for Juve midfielder Tiago to give his consent to a year-long loan deal, it appears that the club are in for some shocking news: He doesn’t want to play for Everton!
Juventus and Everton had agreed terms on a year-long loan deal with the possibility of the former Chelsea player joining the Toffees on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
However, Secco told Italian TV channel Canale 5 that despite the agreement between the clubs Tiago was reluctant to move back to the Premier League.
He said: “We had reached an agreement with Everton for the loan of Tiago. All that was needed was the player’s agreement, and that never came.
“We take it, therefore, that Tiago will stay with us.” (The Independent)
Silence from a player is never a good thing. When two teams come to an agreement on a fee for a player, the news usually means that said player is headed for a plane as soon as possible. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here. One can only wonder if Juve are keeping Tiago quiet, or if this really does mean another Everton transfer target might be lost.
What do Everton supporters think about this whole saga? Do you think Juve are just playing games? Does Tiago really not want to play in the Premier League?

Dont want players that dont want to play for the club!!! Certainly dont want players that have not proved themselves for any club they have represented. Wouldnt have paid that much for him anyway if the rumours were true. Went to the game Saturday and to say they need players is a understatement.

Its great news that we’ve not signed Tiago but having not signed another single player this Summer is disgraceful. I’ve just seen Moyes in an interview on Sky and I’ve never seen him so utterly seething underneath but just trying to keep a calm exterior. If he stays with us after our clubs incompetence I’ll be complete and utterly astounded (and love him for ever)!!
