Everton target again declares his desire to sign, will Moyes pounce or let Arsenal in?!
by Dexter on August 22nd, 2008With Everton fans still desperately awaiting their side’s first signing, it looks like at least one of their targets has his heart set on a move to Goodison already. But are Everton focusing enough effort on capturing this midfielder, or are they up to their necks in sticky Moutinho negotiations with Sporting Lisbon?

Setanta reports that Cameroon midfielder Stephane M’Bia, someone who could nicely fill the Lee Carsley-sized hole in the Everton squad, is very keen on an Everton move, even though Arsenal are reportedly sniffing around.
Stephane Mbia claims that Arsenal are interested in his services, but the African has reaffirmed his intention to seal a move to Everton, who propose him the wages he demands.
The Rennes midfielder declared earlier this week that David Moyes’ Toffees were trying to thrash out the terms of a transfer, and he has now announced that The Gunners are also keen on his arrival.
The Cameroonian is back in France having played the Beijing Olympics, and is hopeful his future will be sorted before the transfer deadline. (Setanta)
Surely this is just the kind of green light that Moyes has been waiting for, and they’ll snap the midfielder up and end an excruciating transfer drought for Evertonians.

Everton have made such great progress under Moyes over the last few years, but they started to stagnate towards the end of last season and atleast 4-5 new players are required to ‘pep up’ a rather smallish squad. if not then a 10th place finish could well be coming!

i agree with the gooner, this transfer window will have adetrimental effect on evertons progress, i predict a slide down to around 9th or 10th
