Spurs to seal £28m deal within DAYS!
by Mr Comfort on August 25th, 2008Well, according to this source the long-running saga will finally be completed this week with the Tottenham star finally leaving to join Manchester United!
Why not join the debate at the COS forum?
Manchester United are this week expected to increase their offer for Dimitar Berbatov but will still fall short of the £30m that Tottenham Hotspur regard as a minimum for the 27-year-old striker.
But United have also told Spurs that they must drop their complaint to the Premier League alleging that they had inappropriately pursued the Bulgaria international. The demand has caused anger at Spurs who had hoped that United would apologise to facilitate the deal – as Liverpool were forced to when signing Robbie Keane earlier in the summer.
However, given the breakdown in relations between Spurs and Berbatov after he put in a transfer request and then claimed he wasn’t “psychologically ready” to play for the club, it appears that a deal could finally be struck for between £25m and £28m. (Independent)
It’s not been the best of starts for Juande Ramos and his men and the sooner they resolve the issue with their want-away star the better. Berbatov was quite rightly not named in the squad that lost to Sunderland at the weekend; the Bulgarian has left a nasty taste in the mouths of the fans that once adored him. The sulking striker has acted terribly and Ramos really has little choice other than to let him have his way. At least then the club will have some more cash to splash out on new strikers. I am sure that the north London side will pick up some good results soon and the club has quality players to help them move up the table, so ridding themselves of this burden is the best thing all around. Who do Spurs fans think the club should bring in up front before the September 1?

Has’nt he gone yet then?(Yarn)Me, I’d throw him in the fucking reserves till Man U coughed up or we replaced him, arrogant ponce. And please tell me we are not seriouslty looking at Heskey? We have gone from potentially the best striking force in the EPL to a Donkey in no time…What the fuck is going on?

I hear that Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is being looked at !!! I think they really mean me ol pal Mark Falco is coming back from retirement…..The odds are pretty much the same.
Camel with the Hump - August 25th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I agree, keep him in the reserves or just say we are not selling. End of. We keep the best striker in the premiership and Man U are taught a lesson but Levy will cash in and this problem is mainly to do with his lack of understanding of the transfer market.
spursmuaythai - August 25th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
we are going backwards as a club now i feel! scouting out players like heskey to replace keane or brbatof is a huuuuggggeee leap backward! “we want champions league” said the board and manager, well im loosing confidence in that now, i think the fans have the ambition but the board do not share it! if they do; sell berbatof its gone too far. buy huntelaar at any price. buy asharvin for 15-17 mill if you can, get a defensive midfielder, get a defender! stop talking about it and fucking do it! we have left it too late because we are being greedy trying to get too much cash for players and trying to get cut price players in. fact is its fucked the start of our season up and now confidence is low all round!
ps. jenas and bent are shit!!!!!!!!!!

marcspur - August 25th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
I blame Levy for our woefull start to the season.by holding out for a few million here and there. Our squad should have been sorted out earlier in the window,so we could hit the ground running at the start of the season. Now we have lost 2 games which a team with Champions league ideas must win
derry spur - August 25th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
disgusted! started the season wih high hopes. more like no hope after only 2 games. we need 5 players. 2 strikers. cb. dmf and left sided player. can we please exchange jenas in any deal. dont know what this guys purpose is!!!!!
derry spur - August 25th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
forgot to mention that waste of f ucking space berbatov. never seen a player with his head so far up his own f ucking ass. would rather we kept the f ucker on principle untill that team built on a plane crash puts up or f ucks up. remember! we finished 5th without the c unt and we will finish higher without out him! COYS!!!!!!

John ADAM - August 26th, 2008 at 7:01 am
Indeed, we should have sorted out our squad since a long time ago in order to start the season with a strong, complete and confident winning team. Please, let us decide QUICKLY what we want for the sake of the team and the fans like myself.
wahab - August 26th, 2008 at 7:51 am
It’s rather we make him play or send his ass off!!!! Enough whining! I never thought he’d be so ungrateful! SPURS!!!!!!
GIYYGUVBUHB - August 26th, 2008 at 7:59 am
this is pissing me off i expected to read this morning spurs just said fuck it .get rid of the prick berba. Iwas expecting to see a list of payers we bid for marcos senna, miguel veloso falcoa, huntelaar, corluka, ashavin, capel instead more foreplay from levy wid man u .this is becoming more some personal thing to make levy feel good but its FUCKING UP OUR SEASON MAN we need quaity replacements cos berbatov is useless to us.
Nayim - August 26th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
We’ve got him on a two year with a two year option. We’ll only lose £10.7m and his wages, he’ll be 31. Send him home for four years. Tw@t

M.M - August 26th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Berba needs to go as this has been dragging on for far to long. If he is being as disruptive as has been reported then why not accept £20 -£25 million as we only paid £10.9 million for him, does no one agree it is a good profit as this seems to be what all this is about. I agree with a few posts here that we should have the team in place and we should have 6 points on the board now. Unless we get something out of Chelsea that will be 0 points in 3 games, less than ideal. All this mess needs to be sorted and I for one wish the Defoe deal was a loan so we could have had him back.
