It looks like Albert Riera will be arriving on Merseyside this summer, although for Everton fans, the bad news is that their long-time transfer target appears to have opted for a Liverpool move instead of Goodison Park. They will be hoping that the same thing doesn’t happen again, with the Toffees linked with a move to a Dutch starlet currently plying his trade with Feyenoord.
Setanta report that Jonathan de Guzman could be David Moyes’ latest acquisition, with the Dutch media hinting that a move to the blue half of the city could be on the cards for the 20-year-old. It’s clear that the club are having to hunt for more and more obscure signings as the transfer deadline date looms.
De Guzman has been linked with Arsenal in the past but De Telegraaf claims Everton are the likeliest bidders for the 20-year-old, who has numerous admirers in the United Kingdom.
The Canada-born starlet recently admitted that he would consider a move away from Feyenoord.
“I am certainly open to possible interest from that corner [England] and from what I have heard lately, Feyenoord are happy to hear from them as well,” he commented.
Will Everton be prepared to splurge the cash on this exciting young talent?
