Ramos to complete a Spurs switcheroo - Bulgarian out, Russian in!
by Dexter on August 27th, 2008It looks like Dimitar Berbatov may finally get his wish, as Juande Ramos lines up a replacement for his moody Bulgarian git. Spurs have got off to a craptastic start and a fresh striker will surely give them a boost.
The Daily Mail reports that just as Berba sulks his way towards the White Hart Lane revolving door, smiling striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is set to join.
Dimitar Berbatov’s switch to Manchester United looked to be moving a step closer last night after Roman Pavlyuchenko claimed he had finally agreed a deal to join Tottenham.
Spartak Moscow had earlier said the Russia striker, 26, had opted against a move because of family reasons, but last night he confirmed he had not travelled with the Spartak squad for the second leg of their Champions League qualifier with Dynamo Kiev as he was finalising the details of his move to Spurs.
Roman PavlyuchenkoHe said: ‘I am back in Moscow and I will not play in Kiev, and I can confirm I am going to Tottenham. I am waiting for a visa and as soon as it is granted, I am ready to go to England and sign.’
Pavlyuchenko said he has yet to discuss the move with Spurs boss Juande Ramos. He added: ‘Juande Ramos and I have not yet met, it seems like he will call me, but I know for
sure he is very interested in my services.’ (Daily Mail)
There is no doubt that a willing servant to the club is of far more use than a moaning sulker, but has Pavlyuchenko got what it takes to replace Berbatov as a goalscorer?

I agree Huntelaar would be the better signing of the two I reckon. pavlyuchenko is aclass and he showed that in the Euro 2008 matches. Will be a great signing and hopefully one that will last, unlike that shitty Bulgarian twat!

DM needed big time as well!! Must do that also! Have no fear though I feel Ramos and co. know what they are doing so far. Lee Pyo has gone now also so something must be on the horizon with that area too.

Great………two footed, mobile, nicely balanced and a good header. Don’t think he brings any mood swings with him. 100% from him is much better than berbs 80%, and he wont make his fellow team mates squirm on a bad pass, inhibiting their play.

Wouldn’t take much notice of anything printed in the Mail. No football knowledge just rumour presented as fact. The Insider in the Mail today says we have sold ROY Keane to Liverpool. Wow, Levy has really put on over Rafa. That’s the standard of the Mail football coverage. When it’s on the official site it’s a done deal!

This is a fantastic signing provided we sign arshavin, if we don’t sign him then I can’t understand this bid. We need to start climbing the table fast. Yet the team need time to gel. Any other striker in the world we’ll have the same team chemistry problems for a while and i don’t think we’ll hit the top four. However if we get arshavin and play these two up front together…. WOW. We could start climbing the table imediately. These two don’t just take chances, they work their socks off and make chances. They know each other inside and out, it’d be brilliant for the club. As for berbatov all I can say is that I wish you a great career at Man U, you go break a leg kidda.
