Striker holding out for a longer contract at Blackburn Rovers

It appeared as though Paul Ince had persuaded this forward to commit himself to Blackburn Rovers, although it’s come to light that no contract has yet been signed at Ewood Park. Will progress be made in the next few days, thus ensuring that ‘The Guv’nor’ has a full set of attacking options this season?

Sky Sports reports that Robbie Fowler has turned his nose up at the ‘pay as you play’ contract drawn up by Rovers, instead demanding a more attractive offer if he is to commit himself to the Lancashire club. Is the former Liverpool striker right to do this, or should he just be grateful that Ince has given him the opportunity in the first place?

“The situation with Robbie is still up in the air, so he won’t be involved against Grimsby,” said Ince.

“These things do take time, especially when the agent gets involved.

“I’m not unsure about Robbie, I’m just unsure as to when it will get done.”

Blackburn fans, are you bothered whether or not the club signs Fowler? After all, with the likes of Roque Santa Cruz, Jason Roberts, Benni McCarthy and Matt Derbyshire, it’s not as if Rovers are short in that department!
