Spartak Moscow have told BBC Sport that striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is poised to join Premier League side Tottenham.
“A deal has been agreed between the clubs and the transfer may be concluded by Thursday,” said a club spokesman. (BBC Sport)

Bobby - Chelski have anelka and look like they’re gonna hang onto drogba, so no need for them to sign Pav, even if he is very very good.
As for Arshavin (ie a wing forward/dribbling second striker) they seem adamant to land Robinho (and still have Joe Cole). They also have a ridiculous number of attacking midfield/forward support options in Deco, Ballack, Lampard, Malouda, SWP (for now) and I suppose even Essien, so i think it circumstantial more than anything as to why they are not looking at Arshavin.
To be fair, they may not be world beaters, but lets first push for the top 4 and then take it from there….

WOAHH. What’s all the fuss about? 12 million is not that much of a gamble guys. I do not think he is being looked at as our out and out No.1 striker but he does seem to have some potential. As for the would he/ or no chance argument about Huntelaar- if ya dont ask you won’t get and there hasnt even been an enquirey yet to my knowledge. Ramos does have a vision I believe that and who has he been after that has actually turned us down? Only clubs seem to have stopped his wishes. I dont know what’s going on with the playing of players in the wrong positions and dont think that we should be playing Bentley and Lennon in the same starting line up. I do however think that this is the start of JR’s plan and that plan was not to deliver top 4 in this season which is going to be in reality his first. He even went on record as saying so and the one thing I have seen from the first couple of games is that it is going to take Modric time so lets let him and the rest have some please.
