Spurs linked with £10m bid that would be STUPID!

Tottenham fans may want to get ready for one hell of a side-splittingly ridiculous piece of speculation from the Daily Mail. You have been warned!

Wigan have vowed to repel Tottenham’s efforts to sign Emile Heskey for £10million.
Spurs have turned their attentions towards the England striker in a bid to find a like-for-like replacement for wantaway striker Dimitar Berbatov.
A source at the JJB Stadium has, however, confirmed to Sportsmail that Athletic would rebuff any approach for their talisman. (Daily Mail)

Heskey must be after a new contract as clearly this rather large red herring must have been invented by his agent. The idea that Ramos would consider replacing Berbatov with the former Liverpool man is crazier than the Kevin Spacey character in Se7en! And the idea that the England international (46 caps incredibly) would be worth a fee of somewhere in the region of £10m is frankly laughable. I think it would be safe to say that if Emile was brought in by the Spurs board then every fan would ceremoniously rip up their season tickets at once. Rest assured this is clearly nothing more than the Daily Mail and a crazy agent messing with your mind again! Do Spurs fans think that Heskey would be the worst striker they could consider purchasing?

As much as this old news and hopefully a load of bollox, we can’t completely count it out!

For months we have known Berbasulk didnt want to play for us, and inevertably he would be plying his trade elsewhere! so what worries me is the lack of adequate cover or replacements, if we fail to secure asap players we would want to come in, we may be forced come final transfer day to go for someone like heskey, then we really would be in the shite! its all very well Mr Levy to see us linked with so many top players, but please, please do somehting about it!! I like many other Loyal Spurs fans have had to endure too many false dawns too many post match drinks down the pub being ridiculed, after another embarrasing defeat.

Get it sorted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, well we’ll have him then, good point.
Have some faith, cheer when we’re loosing. It works for Pompey. We need to support the boys not always expect the worse, we’re one win behind the Scum and 4 points off United, Chelski are beatable, we know that. That’s why could all go on an early holiday last season.

Dear Mr Levy,
I know you are a devoted spurs supporter as indeed am I for the last 46 years (for better or worse eh!).
Just a little bit of non-advice which has undoubtedley already been pointed out to you - get your finger out!
Our club needs at least 1 (preferably 2) top class strikers, a midfielder like riquelme and a hard nut at the back instead of Mr couldn’t hit a barn door at 3 paces Zokora. We need them NOW, not next year or the year after. If you and the board can’t hack it, I suggest you hire bricktop and errol to steal the buggers as long as they’re ready to do the beesneez against chelski.

I guess I must be the only one but I rate Heskey. As a front man who holds the ball up there are few better in the premiership and it is no coincidence that England have always played much better with him in the side.

I am not sure that it would be the best move in the world if we were to sign him, but if it were a choice between having him as a third choice striker behind Bent and Pavley or having no third choice at all then I would definately go for him as a ‘last resort’ buy. At least you know that you will be getting a player who can hold his own in the premiership.

I have to say that the prospect of spending the next few months relying upon Bent and one / two unproven foreigners to score the goals for us fills me with dread!!
