According to this source, Juande is closing in on FOUR more players to add to his already bulging summer transfer dealings!
Tottenham, on the verge of signing Vedran Corluka, are competing with Everton in an £11million deadline day battle to sign Standard Liege midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini, 20, impressed for the Belgian outfit in the holding midfield role over two legs against Liverpool in the recent Champions League third qualifying round, where he looked comfortable against the likes of Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard.
Tottenham head coach Juande Ramos is reportedly planning to steal Fellaini from Everton’s clutches as he looks to strengthen his squad and add defensive quality – including a renewed effort to sign Manchester City defender Corluka.
Boosted by the promise of funds accumulated from Dimitar Berbatov’s probable £30million departure to Old Trafford before the window slams shut at midnight, Ramos is poised to return with improved offers for both players.
“At the moment, there is a lot of interest from Spurs. It’s not resolved in one way or the other at the moment,” said Mark Hughes.
“Things may well have happened today. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.”
Meanwhile, it is understood Real Zaragoza officials are in London to negotiate with Spurs the joint £18million transfers of Diego Milito and Raul Garcia.
The striking duo were both left out of Zaragoza’s opening La Liga defeat to Levante at the weekend adding to speculation their futures lie elsewhere, with Tottenham ready to offer them a new start. (Telegraph.co.uk)
So is this source going too far? Corluka is a done deal but what about these other three? The Telegraph makes it sound like they are all very likely to be wearing Tottenham shirts at press conferences by midnight, but could this be the case? Clearly if the club does sell Berbatov to Man United then they have lots of cash to splash, but are all of these players really about to sign for the north London side? What do Spurs fans think? Who do they believe really will be signed before the window slams shut?
