Manchester City’s famous fan glad ‘to have swindled Manchester United’
by stresster on September 3rd, 2008 289 words | 14 commentsLet’s face it, Oasis went downhill after their first two albums, although that hasn’t stopped them making shedloads of cash from recording several dud albums since and going on a string of tours. Their success has elevated the Gallagher brothers into stardom, and one of them has exclaimed his delight upon hearing about his club’s newly-found wealth.
ITN reports that Noel Gallagher, the talented brother in the group, is in Canada at the moment and only heard about the news when some of his mates texted him about the Man City takeover. The guitarist and songwriter has wasted no time having a dig at United about this, especially as he reckons they ended up paying an arm and a leg for their high-profile signing.
He said: “They were telling me to put on the news, we’ve been bought by some Arab prince.
“I was laughing at first, thinking ‘I can’t quite believe it’, and just before we went on stage I found out we’ve signed Robinho.
“I can only assume they’ve offered him a fortune because there is no other reason he’d come to City from Real Madrid – we’re not even in the Champions League.”
Gallagher, who was raised in Burnage, Manchester, added: “I’m also pleased we’ve managed to swindle Man United out of a few bob as they’ve had to pay over the odds for Berbatov.
“It’ll be nice to know that every gallon of petrol a Manchester United fan buys is going into our kitty.”
At least Gallagher is a realist with regard to his comments about Robinho, although it may be less than a year before City are playing Champions League football. Especially if they manage to land just a fraction of their January transfer targets, the list is growing long already!

They expected to get him for £24 million. And as they were the only game in town (so they, and Spurs, thought), they probably would have done. But it didn’t quite work out like that. Everybody in their right minds know that City didn’t really want him, and took the money off the table as soon as the real guy was signed.
But now there’s the little issue of City having made a bid, it being accepted by Spurs, Spurs sending him by plane to Manchester to talk to City, and Sir Alex Ferguson (when United didn’t have permission to talk to him), meeting him at the airport and whisking him off to Old Trafford in a taxi.
That’s a 12 point deduction there and then. It doesn’t matter if Levy says that Spurs aren’t going to complain, City certainly could. I suppose it depends how our new owners feel about United. Of course, they don’t need to complain immediately – they could leave it for a month or two, or even till the end of the season….
So maybe they should feel themselves lucky it was only “a few bob”.

As Stresster said already, the Gallagher haven’t recorded anything decent in donkeys years. Still, now the Oasis can go to Abu Dhabi, genuflect, ululate, slobber all over the Sultan and ask him to offer maybe 250M quid for pretty Ronnie. Actually, I’m quite all right with Liverpool and City going Arab. The more parity there is: The better the league! I remember the days when City and United fans were divided along sectarian lines like Celtic and Rangers and we’d fight up and down Market Street, Shude Hill and New Brown Street.. Footie was much more fun then, and a LOT cheaper!

Jesus you bluenoses still think that with just one decent import you is going to rule Europe…..get a grip even with all the Raghead cash there will still be only one team in Manchester and that is the reds.
i bet you the sun has blinded theat Arabs eyes and when he he was offered a team from Manchester he was probably colour blind and as for Robinho we are now making bets to see how long he lasts at Shitty City

Tony Bee.
You talk of ‘ragheads’ and then accuse The Gallaghers of being bigots?
You sound a bright lad.

Hahaha Picadilly Blue sums up Tony Bee, and Man U fans in general, perfectly with that statement. Isn’t it fresh when Man U fans start dissing clubs for having money to spend!

Funny how all the Cideh fans, for YEARS, have been banging on about us ‘buying the league’ and ‘glory hunting fans’, nothing like being total and utter hypocrites is there boys?? We’ll see who finishes higher in the league this season, and next……….

And, also, funny how Gallagher says “It’ll be nice to know that every gallon of petrol a Manchester United fan buys is going into our kitty.”, notwithstanding the fact that ADUG made all their money from property, and not oil. Nothing like lack of knowledge eh…..

Man city a big club? wheres the history? wheres the world wide fan base?
Man Utd are the only big boys in manchester and we didn’t need no arabs to get us there.
30 million for Robinho and now your gonna win the league does anyone there know a thing about football?
City are sure to become the most hated team in football, I cant wait.

Its just laughable. City may indeed challenge for trophies, but they’ve no class. Just like Chelsea, no class. And as Chelsea have found out for the last 2 seasons, the cream always rises to the top.

Noel Gallagher is an uncouth has been whose opinion makes little impression on the vast majority of footie fans. It’ll be interesting to see his reaction when he realises that money can’t buy either success or tradition.
jimbobblue - September 5th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
parky276,Jani, CITY have got class working class hob nail boots and all we dont want to be middle class prawn sandwich eaters who dont even know how to sing at matches, you sit there worrying about if you lose what the neighbors might think sad, come to city we will show you how to provide an atmosphere of joy even when we lose, and for united the cream will soon be sour. forget history think of the future we bought robinho just to prove we can throw money away and that it doesn’t matter because there is plenty more where that came from robinho will be one of our substitutes thats why you might think its a waste of money. JPF ADUG made the money from oil then bought property. one import for now then comes january sales and beyond, what came first the chicken or the egg, buildings oil Bedouin tents
