Why don’t England players give a s*** when playing for their country in SIX WORDS!
by Mr Comfort on September 7th, 2008 124 words | 11 commentsLong-winded people are boring, and writing full sentences is for chumps. So instead you have just SIX words. Sound easy? Good for you.
I think it’s safe to say that last night’s performance, well the first 45 minutes in the main, was horrible! This has yet again led many fans to believe that playing for one’s country means very little to a great many players in the current set up, but why?

You could probably write an essay about this. Well tough, you only have SIX WORDS! Concise and creative, or just plain hilarious, it’s up to you now so leave your masterpiece in the comments.

I don’t even watch the games anymore, i just check the results afterwards. I don’t see the point in wasting 90+ minutes of my life which i can never get back, watching over-priced athletes let themselves down.
On paper we have (in my opinion) the 4th best squad in the world, behind Brazil, Argentina and Spain. And with the likes of Rio Ferdinand and John Terry at the back, Steven Gerrard and Gareth Barry in the middle, Rooney up front, we have arguably the best central spine of players in the world. And we have players who can play wide, in Joe Cole, SWP, David Bentley, Ashley Young Aaron Lennon.
We even have young talent emerging in Theo Walcott, Micah Richards, Michael Johnson and Fraizer Campbell to name just a few.
But yet we continually let ourselves down, despite how these players shine week in, week out, for their respective clubs. Its a disgrace how these players get paid 100k+ per week in some cases, but yet they can’t gel together for the national side. People say “yeah its cos of so many foreigners in our leagues” however i reckon the blame must be left with the players.
These players are considered as some of the best in the world, and they get paid to do their job. You’d think that in a national side full of talent it would make them even better playing around better players, but they just seem like they can’t be bothered to commit to the national side and train jsut that little bit harder.
We have the raw talent, and the best manager we’ve had in a while, I reckon its about time the players who aren’t performing get dropped, just like Owen has, because that way they’ll realise that they arent automatically given a place based on theyre persona, they need to prove it in the white shirt which was once so proudly worn.
