There is bound to be one, or possibly more, player who you simply can not believe has scrapped together a living as a professional footballer. A player so inept it has made you cry, a player that has led you to shout from the stands with all seriousness that “I can do better than that!”!

You asked for players that came in and were suppose to be good… instead they made me scream every time i watched united play…
Yes no doubt that bellion , taibi, djemba djemba, and co etc were all useless and hopeless but the difference is i expected that from them.. So i was not really disappointed in there performances , i was just wondering how Sir Alex would go for them..

Taibi was a nightmare signing. Maybe he looks back now and thinks he bottled it???
Laurent Blanc was nearly 90 when we signed him, so a bit harsh to criticise his performances as we were never going to get another Baresi.
Worst manager at United for me is Tommy docherty and am sick of the parasite leeching off us when their is two bob in it for him…a disgraceful man.
Taibi, Veron, and maybe Peter Davenport – a leper scores more than him.

Anderson is 20 and is gonna be class, we have seen that in many games – and besides with scholes, carrick, giggs and rooney. we got some of the best passers in the game.
Hargreaves ha been injured so enough said. granted alot of money for a player spending more time with the physio then the gaffer.
AND SMUDGE – dont you ever bad mouth Smudge… beside the fact that he was playing way out of position (Roy Keanes replacement) and that break was atrocious. But besides that the worst players would have to be….

1. fletcher (nobody even dare say he is good. if he wasnt at united hed be in squad rotation at celtic or rangers at the very best)
2. recently giggs and scholes (take a look at giggs as soon as he misplaces a pass and immediatly tries to blame someone else and scholes just constantly out of the game until someone passes to him out of position)

Worst players ..hmmm not that easy to recall and its debatable..like how much u paid for them? and what was the expectations? Assuming they paid a million for a youngster that didnt quite make it….that may not fall into “the worse player” category…..so the big flops I could think of :
1.Veron (flashes of brilliance…but soooo memorably disappointing)

The likes of bellion, Richardson, Flectcher are part of the youth system so would be unfair to critisise these players, at least Ferguson gives them the chance.

1. Paddy Roach (he had more games with 3-4 goals allowed than anyone who’s have played so few games in the Premiership or 1st division…one of many reasons United ended up in the 2nd division for a year in 73-74.)
2. Djemba Djemba and Veron were both big disappointments.
3. Barthez ( for the opposite reason that Roach is on the list. He completely destroyed the confidence of the United defense when he was in net…he made some nice saves but he was so erratic it threw the whole team off)

You can’t seriously think that both Giggs and Scholes belong on this list.

Have you forgotten all the runs he made over the years. Leaving the other team’s defense looking silly when he was done. The speed, the skill the touch.
Remember what he did to Arsenal in the ‘99 Cup semi finals
He’s not done yet…Who scored the penalty winner in Moscow last year after Ronnie, Terry and Anelka all missed theirs (cool under pressure).
Scholes…well he’s a terrible tackler I’ll give you that, but the other teams know he’ll go in hard and it keeps them honest. He doesn’t have to be running all over the field…He can set any one of the guys up front with a pinpoint pass through and over bodies…and his cannon of a shot…If he gets close to that box with a look at the net he’ll the hit net more often (percentage-wise) than Ronnie or Rooney… not to dis either Ronnie or Rooney.
Who scored the only goal in the Barca in the Champions league Semis last year…An absolute screamer !
They may be getting a little long in the tooth but ask any of the younger guys on United and against United for that matter. The experience, skill (mental and physical) and knowledge they lend to the team is priceless.
Put you on the field with these guys and they’ll have you looking like a steamless turd on the pitch! …even if they were 60!
The only reason you could possibly throw them on this list is because you are still a puppy or you aren’t a United fan at all and you despise all the times these 2 have made your team look like school girls on the pitch…Go back and have a look at their prime years and all the things these 2 have accomplished for the Reds and only the Reds over the past 20 odd years…
Then and only then can you make an intelligent choice.
