It looks like Arsenal could be given a timely boost for their season come Christmas, in the shape of Croatia striker Eduardo, who has set himself a loose target of a Chrimbo-time return to the Premier League fold.
The Scotsman reports that the Croatian fox – ruthlessly nobbled after a nasty broken leg in February – could be back in a few months:
“My leg is getting better all the time and I hope to be back playing again by Christmas,” Eduardo said. “It has been a long road to recovery, and there is still a lot of hard work left to do, but everything is going well and I should be back playing again soon.” (The Scotsman)
Any return for Eduardo will be a massive plus for the Gunners, as Eduardo is a supreme goalscorer and brings something to the Arsenal side that no one else can replicate. Whereas the Croatian’s injury signalled the beginning of the end for Arsenal’s title challenge last season, this time around his return could have the opposite effect.
