Bayern Munich will sell Lukas Podolski in January. (Daily Star)
Bayern Munich boss Jurgen Klinsmann has hinted Lukas Podolski could be up for sale in January.
Manchester City and Tottenham are interested in the German international and Klinsmann said: “Podolski has two monsters (Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose) here ahead of him and has yet to prove himself better than either of them. It is not a pleasant situation for Lukas. He cannot be satisfied being a substitute.” (tribalfootball.com)
Thirty goals in 57 internationals clearly counts for little as former Tottenham legend Klinsmann clearly sees Podolski as firmly down the pecking order. But that will come as good news for Juande Ramos, who is said to be a big fan of the stylish Poland-born finisher. The £12m rated Podolski had a pretty solid Euro 2008 and he probably would have hoped to have been more of a first-team starter under the new boss. But it hasn’t happened yet and it appears that the Bundesliga champions have decided to cash in rather than hold on to an unhappy player. Their loss could well be either Spurs’ or Manchester City’s gain. Do Tottenham fans think another striker is needed at White Hart Lane?

Unlike Villa or Arshavin i think that signing Podolski is a realistic goal and he is a player that i like the look of. He would indeed work well with Roman and i am not sure Bent and the Russian will work as a pairing but i hope i am proved wrong tomorrow night

It is imperative that we get a new striker of world class for us to be really strong and break into the top four. I am thinking of someone who can really combine well with Pavlyuchenko. It will be interesting to see if Bent can do that in the match tonight.

I heard this story just before the beginning of the transfer window. I think he would be a great signing and think it’s possible, but expect more than just Spurs and Man City to show an interest. And apparently Bayern will be wanting closer to £20m.

I think that Lucas P would be a better signing than Arshavin. He is quality. Think a lot of clubs would be showing a keen interest. Not too sure why JK would want to get rid of him though. Bring him on, can play in my side anyday and would adapt well to the EPL

Poldolski is not good enough for the premier league. The bundesliga here in Germany is equivalent to the Scottish premier league. The price tag is far too high!

you should buy him, you need all the help ya can get, but realistically, you carry on this way and it will be too late by january, cos you’ll already be relegated, still always the mickey mouse cup to aim for again eh?
