Apparently White Hart Lane is all set to receive a bid for one of their perennially off-form players, according to this source at least. So what will Juande do if they are in fact offered such a fee by Newcastle United for the England international?
Newcastle United Football Club fans could receive some long-overdue cheer in January.
The Toon Army are in distress at the moment following the departure of Kevin Keegan, with the 2-1 home defeat to Hull City on Saturday further inflaming their fury.
However, despite Mike Ashley putting the club up for sale, they remain keen to appoint a new manager as soon as possible and funds will be made available for the new man.
And one possible target could be Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon, who is believed to have his fans in the St James’ Park boardroom and could be available for £10million. (fansfc.co.uk)
Aaron Lennon is all over the papers in recent weeks, some reporting that giants Real Madrid are monitoring the diminutive (short) winger. The former Leeds man is blessed with all the pre-requisites of a potential great player but for some reason for about 18 months he has failed to cross a ball successfully or inspire a meaningful attack (oh, but he has won the club some corners when his balls into the box have invariably hit the full-back’s backside). Maybe I am being harsh but he can be a very frustrating player to watch (and I am not even a Spurs fan!). I guess he is all the more annoying to watch because on his day, like when he first joined the club from Leeds United, he was a joy to watch, scaring the life out of defenders. I am pretty sure that if the club was offered £10m then Ramos would take it to use on additions to the rapidly-improving squad. So Spurs fans, if you were the head honcho, would you take the money and run?
