Chelsea sign Arsenal reject!
by sub on September 22nd, 2008Last week Premier League giants Arsenal rejected Brazilian international midfielder Mineiro after the 32-year-old failed to impress manager Arsene Wenger. But in football, as in life, one man’s loss is another man’s gain and Chelsea are using this ideology to the full.
The Blues have signed Mineiro on a free transfer in the wake of the club losing Michael Essien for virtually the entire season. Mineiro was released by Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin in the summer and the Brazilian international midfielder has been looking for a club ever since.
Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said about this latest Chelsea signing:
“Mineiro is a player I need because I lost Essien for six months and only John Mikel Obi is there for us. He won’t play this week but maybe after 10 days he will play.
“He needs to play in the reserve team and needs some time but that is good for me because he gives me some options.”
Chelsea have also been linked with the Ghanaian international Stephen Appiah, who is also a free agent at the moment. But maybe Chelsea won’t pursue that link as they have a certain Mineiro now.

Oh dear, are the mighty chavs a bit short of midfielders? Dont they still have that B grade billionaire to finance a wave of signings in the transfers window.
Oh I forgot, he was out muscled by some Yabby Dabby Doo merchant and has plainly lost interest.
How the chavs crowed at Arsene prudence and band of youngsters, but we seem to have 8 to choose from + more to return from injury.
The futures bright, its red & white (not black & white spuds!!)

gooner get ya. I agree with you (except that also hate Arsenal but given time you’ll see the error of your ways). Nickynicknick seems to have got his name and his attitudes from Jim Davidson.
For all their faults one can usually rely on Arsenal fans to have a modicum of intelligence and tolerance. The xenophonic “joke” was untypical I believe.

nickynicknick you do realise the tranfer window is shut, therefore it would be pretty difficult for anyone to”buy” a player we need at teh moment. oh hang on, maybe you didnt realise, what with you obviously haveing some sort of mental problem..

dkw - the transfer window is indeed shut but as the player in question is a free agent (out of contract) anyone can sign him whenever they want.
