News from Villa Park may well lead to Liverpool fans going completely insane as it could well suggest that the very long-running saga involving a certain Aston Villa man may well kick off all over again in the summer!

Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner fears Aston Villa must finish in the top four this term to afford Gareth Barry’s wage demands.
England ace Barry, 27, has a strong bargaining hand as he will have only one year left on his £47,000-a-week contract next summer. Barry could have earned a basic £80,000-a-week at Anfield.
But Villa’s money men insist they can’t meet Barry’s demands unless they are in the Champions League. (Daily Mirror)

If this is indeed true and that only a top four finish will suffice in order for the Midlands club to pay Gareth Barry’s wage demands, then could this well open the door for yet another bid from his well-known admirer Rafa Benitez? No offence to Aston Villa, but I don’t see them cracking the top four this season.

Even though Martin O’Neill has been steadily improving the team year-on-year, they may not be ready for the big step just yet. Do Liverpool fans hope that their Spanish boss steers clear of the England international or do they hope he goes in for yet another bid?
