Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United alerted as £23m STAR seeks England move!
by Mr Comfort on October 6th, 2008Well Spurs have been removed from the equation as this Russian star’s agent makes it clear that only one of the Premier League’s top four will suit his client!
Don’t forget to check out Online Football Manager!
The Zenit star’s representative, Dennis Lachter, has revealed that the only clubs in England Arshavin would consider offers from would be the ‘big four’ Champions League qualifiers.
‘Zenit is negotiating with several clubs. We are now waiting for a phone call from Zenit president Alexander Dyukov to allow us to negotiate his personal terms with one of them. It’s most likely he will be heading for England.
“It’s going to be a very big transfer. Zenit will definitely not accept an offer of less than 30million euros (£23.8m). They are owned by Gazprom, who are one of the biggest oil companies in the world, so they can afford not to sell him cheaply.” (Daily Mail)
Arshavin was all set to join Tottenham in the summer, at least that is if you believe everything you read. Now it appears only a move to one of the big guns interests one of the stars of Euro 2008. His club side is struggling this season and looks unlikely to secure a place in next year’s Champions League, thus making a move far more likely. The question now is, which of the top four wants him the most?
So as a fan of Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United or Chelsea what are you views? Is he worth the big price tag and can he do a job in the top tier of English football?

as a supporter of Liverpool I say we don’t want an alcoholic player in our team
steven - October 6th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
im a liverpool fan and i like arshavin but i think he will join roman abramovic at chelsea as an alternative robinho who they obviously missed out on
Adebayor - October 6th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
That price is just too much for a 27 year old. We don’t need him at Utd and i doubt arsenal will sign him. Will probably go to chelsea as they missed out on Robinho
Fabregas - October 7th, 2008 at 1:12 am
He’s no worth that, we have better player, Arsenal dont need him
slicky4 - October 7th, 2008 at 1:38 am
so LIVERPOOL would pay more 4 arshavin than TORRES i doubt that very much.
Fernando - October 7th, 2008 at 1:40 am
dont want him

arshavin kind of sprung to the world’s attention in the last year or so but 23m for a 27 year old, who hasn’t really played at a high level apart from euro 08 is a massive risk, then again he might turn out to be one of the greatest players ever in the premier league, i can only see chelsea taking that gamble, maybe united if/when ronaldo leaves
RassHenry - October 7th, 2008 at 3:51 am
Arshavin is quality, without doubt but 23m for 27 year old player is way too much. Anything from 10-15m would reasonable price for him. Anyway Arsenal needs a worldclass defender to replace fucking piece of shitte so called Gallas & a quality with experience defending midfielder to fill the gap left by Gilberto or Flamini a.s.a.p. Micah Richards & Yaya Toure would be a ideal buy. Come on you Gunners
Cheers

23 million for a unproven player?
ridicilous…….
cmon we didnt even spend that much on torres?
these days, the amount of money being paid to players is unbelievable.i think buying players for 40 million or sumthin is just cause thet want “big names” in th team, and they probarly dnt like the club, they just want the money.

If he’s any good and mature, Wenger won’t buy! He wants cheap third world talent. Buy low, sell high if they are any good. That’s how the profit is made for the director shareholders. Forming a football team means nothing to them. Just display
Get rid of Wenger and that dreadful board!

Arshavin is just a player just coming up and for any club to sign him is a big risk,as my friend mark said.we can say Arshavin a euro player that player very well but not yet international level.the money tag on him is very big with no record yet, thanks

remember milan baros….arshavin is going to be same…one tournament hero….ridiculous to spend so much money on him…
Sean Lehy - October 7th, 2008 at 11:33 am
RassHenry-you have no chance buying Micah-City don’t need to sell anyone. It’s not going to happen overnight but we will be moving up the league, not down, and we’ll do it with young players like Richards, Ireland, Johnson and Sturridge STAYING with us. If you want to buy players, go to WHL-they like selling their best players I think
Bob A Nob - October 7th, 2008 at 11:35 am
let’s face it before the tournament nobody had really heard of him, he has a few good games and now appears to want the pick of the prem to buy him? As far as i can remember the last time we bought players based on a tournament performance we ended up with Diao and Diouff… nuff said really.
Matt Ro - October 7th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Way too much for a player who made out good at one fucking tournament. Don’t let the media fool you people! He plays in a mickey mouse league. Seems like a big risk to bring in a player at that age for that kind of money when he still truly hasn’t proven himself. Remember, the Prem is a different kind of league that is difficult to adjust to and some never do so I ask you - Is he worth a 23.8 million pound gamble? I think not. Pool do not need this guy even if he were 15 million…maybe 10.
khateeb - October 7th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
i think arshavin is a brilliant player he has skill and scores goals and thats what liverpool need not like benayoun or kuyt.we need arshavin.babel and him on each flanks it will be terrific. he is worth of lot of money and i think liverpool should look more close to him.PLEASE LIVERPOOL (BENITEZ) GET YOUR MONEY OUT AND BUY HIM BEFOE SIR OLD FERGUSEN BUYS HIM PLEASE.
MOBEEN - October 7th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
liverpool here is a chance to buy one of the biggest and skillfuliest footballers on the planet. Benayoun has not performed well while he has been at hte club and he would be a could replacement.I seen him play a lot of matches
for zenit and he is performing well.Comon liverpool he plays football just like the bigest players in the world such as KAKA, RONALDO AND HE WOULD PROBALY BE BETTER THAN robinho
HellRaiser - October 8th, 2008 at 5:56 am
He will probably land at Stam BRIDGE, as chelsea missed out on Robinho…
MUFC - October 8th, 2008 at 6:16 am
TOTTENHAM IS THE PLACE FOR ARSHAVIN WITH THE REST OF THE OVERRATED,OVERPRICED,OVERPAYED SHIT OF EUROPE
V Wilson - October 8th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Personally I would love to see Arshavin at Old Trafford but that won’t happen. He is overpriced and not really on Fergie’s radar. Chelsea will be the destination or possibly Man City. And if they both fail, don’t be surprised if Bayern Munich come out of the Bavarian forests to swoop him up.
