This Anfield flop has managed just four minutes of Premier League action and, if Rafa gets the chance, he would take the money and run. The problem is, would this former Arsenal man leave to join Stoke City?

A less concerning loss for Rafael Benitez will be out-of-favour winger Jermaine Pennant, after it emerged top-flight new boys Stoke City are preparing a £3 million bid for the 25-year-old. (inthenews.co.uk)

I think January will be crunch time for Jermaine Pennant, and it really does seem to make sense for him to leave the club and look for a new challenge, much in the same way the likes of Voronin (although only on loan), Riise, Kewell, Carson and Crouch all did. All of these players were not deemed first team-worthy by Benitez, and they left to try their luck elsewhere (with varying degrees of success thus far), now it is the winger’s turn.

Blackburn and Wigan are also said to be considering a move for a player who is pretty decent on his day, but the problem is he hasn’t been ‘on his day’ for about 18 months. Will Liverpool fans mourn the loss of Jermaine, and is it worth Rafa keeping him as cover?
