Liverpool ponder £3m winger bid: Good deal for everyone?
by Mr Comfort on October 6th, 2008This Anfield flop has managed just four minutes of Premier League action and, if Rafa gets the chance, he would take the money and run. The problem is, would this former Arsenal man leave to join Stoke City?

A less concerning loss for Rafael Benitez will be out-of-favour winger Jermaine Pennant, after it emerged top-flight new boys Stoke City are preparing a £3 million bid for the 25-year-old. (inthenews.co.uk)
I think January will be crunch time for Jermaine Pennant, and it really does seem to make sense for him to leave the club and look for a new challenge, much in the same way the likes of Voronin (although only on loan), Riise, Kewell, Carson and Crouch all did. All of these players were not deemed first team-worthy by Benitez, and they left to try their luck elsewhere (with varying degrees of success thus far), now it is the winger’s turn.
Blackburn and Wigan are also said to be considering a move for a player who is pretty decent on his day, but the problem is he hasn’t been ‘on his day’ for about 18 months. Will Liverpool fans mourn the loss of Jermaine, and is it worth Rafa keeping him as cover?

oh yes of course i will mourn the loss of pennant, because he has been brilliant for us hasnt he? hopefully he will leave and also wont play again for liverpool. we need to look at el zhar to play rather than pennant. el zhar is the best right winger we have- compared with benayoun, kuyt (as a winger), and pennant. why hasnt he been in the last few squads, but benayoun has?! benayoun is rubbish and so is pennant, get rid of both of the. also get bale and sell aurelio!

Pennant is an average winger. Every now and then he might deliver a decent cross. But the man can not do it week in week out for Liverpool. His performance got himself to sit on the sideline. If he is truely awesome player. Do you really think Rafa wont play him? It is wise for Liverpool to sell him to a mid table team. Pennant is only 25 yrs old. He still can offer his average service. To an average club. Because a great club like Liverpool. He only gets to sit on the sideline. Life as a professional football player doesnt last forever.

There have not been a good right winger since…… I have to admit it….. David Beckham played for MU. Even though I HATE these fucking MU & the players, even ex-players. Ruud V Nisterlroy scored more when Beckham played. So, I guess Pennant can go. At the moment no one in the BPL can play right wing except for the fucking MU gay, Ronaldo.
