Manchester City plan TRULY AWESOME £14m signing: Would be great buy!
by Mr Comfort on October 7th, 2008The benefit of seemingly unlimited riches seems to be making Mark Hughes consider signings of Fantasy Football proportions, and this has led him to reportedly be aiming for this truly legendary former Arsenal star!

Mark Hughes will try to prise Thierry Henry from Barcelona when the transfer window opens in January. Former Arsenal striker Henry is expected to leave the Nou Camp after failing to make an impact in Spain and Manchester City boss Hughes has asked to be kept informed of developments.
City desperately need a reliable forward to complement their attacking midfielders because Hughes and his staff feel Brazilian Jo, 20, will not come into his own for another year at least.
Henry, 31, has been at Barcelona for a little over a season but has never settled and is keen to return to England. Last night Hughes stressed City fans should be patient as he builds a team to challenge for honours. (Daily Mail)
There are many who believe that Thierry hasn’t made an impact at the Camp Nou, but that would be a tad unfair, given the fact that the Frenchman has started managed 21 goals in 44 starts. However, it is true that he doesn’t appear to be a stonewall starter under Pepe Guardiola, and that in itself has led to speculation that he may be on his way.
The £14m striker is of course a Premier League legend, but would he return to the league to anyone other than Arsenal? That would be a tough decision for Henry to make, but I see no harm in Sparky trying to secure this deal as it would be a great signing. Do Manchester City fans think that they could snare the World Cup winner?

Irrespective of how much dough we now have, I cant see Hughes paying over 8mil fo a 31 year old whose value will only decrease.

Think he’s got a couple of seasons before his pace goes. But I’d rather wait for Bojinov - that guy is hungry ! We’ve never had a chance to see Boj and Petrov playing together. That combination rotating with Robinho and Elano will be unstoppable.

henry would not go. city need a presense in the middle of the park. paying big money for another ex arsenal player like viera would help more

no no no.
our money should be invested in young hungry players, we should be making our own legends.
not spending money on ANOTHER attempt at a quick fix at instant success who has made his name somewhere else and has his best years behind him. if we are trying to catch up to the big 4, how does it help signing a player deemed not good enough to play for one of them 2 years ago?
in fact, why the fcuk am i even commenting on clearly another bollox story, made up by a lazy journo. when the owners and manager have already made it quite clear we will be going after and developing young talent for success in 2-3 years
