Manchester United 6 Arsenal 1 (February 25, 2001)
Poor old Arsenal. As Arsene Wenger found out, there really is nothing worse than being humiliated by one of your closest — and fiercest — rivals.
Dwight Yorke opened the scoring after three minutes and added two more after French striker Thierry Henry had levelled for the Gunners.
United midfielder Roy Keane scored the fifth goal of the game after 26 minutes and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it 5-1 seven minutes before the break.
The Gunners managed to dig in to try and restore some dignity in the second half. And it worked until Teddy Sheringham rubbed salt into the wound with a last-gasp goal to leave Wenger wondering what he had done to deserve such a result. (The Sun)
