Another Brazilian likes the look of Manchester City: But do they like the look of him?

It’s almost as if there’s a formula at Eastlands which states “The more Brazilians in your squad = The greater chance your team has of winning silverware this season”. Elano has been at Manchester City for over a season now, while Jo arrived in the summer, swiftly to be followed by Robinho on transfer deadline day. Ronaldinho was also mulling over a move to the club, before opting for Milan, although it doesn’t mean there won’t be another compatriot arriving at the City of Manchester Stadium in the near future.

We’ve been down this road before, although it appears that Ronaldo (not Cristiano) is seriously weighing up a move to the blue half of Manchester, despite the club giving no indication that they want to sign the former Real Madrid star. The Sun report that the former world superstar is keen on hooking up with his buddy Robinho, although a move to France could also be on the cards. Decisions, decisions…

Ronaldo, 32, said: “Paris is a city that I love and they have a great project to win the league title.

“However, at City I have Robinho, who is a great friend of mine. But we will see, in the past few days we have spoken.

“For the time being, my only aim is to return to playing, the rest will follow.”

While you have to give the striker credit for trying to resurrect his footballing career, his best years are surely behind him and it would perhaps not represent a forward step for Mark Hughes and Manchester City. Instead, they would surely be better-off looking for front men who can blossom at Eastlands and play there for several seasons. Would any supporters like to see Ronaldo in a City shirt?
