Manchester City seem to be learning the hard way that squad depth can make or break a season. With it, a club can weather almost any storm; however, without it, even the greatest of teams can crumble. City defender Micah Richards claims his current squad is too small, and if the current ownership doesn’t act fast, there’s a good chance the team could fall into the depth of despair!

Whilst the depths of despair reference might be a bit much, it does underline a serious problem going on at City. 14 matches this early in the season is a load; just ask any manager how well they could cope with such a dilemma and I’m sure you’d get a grim response. Money doesn’t seem to be a problem any longer, so you have to figure that the club will be making a huge splash in the January window.
What do City supporters think? Is the club running on empty at the moment?
