Spurs to make INCREDIBLE £30m pair bid: Two world class players!

Tottenham according to sources close to the club are preparing a double swoop for Luca Toni and Lukas Podolski to try and bolster up their impotent forward line. (footylatest.com)
Tottenham had been linked with a move for 23-year-old Podolski all summer and will be heartened by the strikers comments on Thursday, where the former FC Koln striker revealed that he will have to make a decision in the winter on his future at the Allianz Arena if he continues to only play a bit part for Bayern under coach Jurgen Klinsman.
It now appears that not only will Spurs make a move for Podolski, but also Toni (left), who is the player keeping Podolski out of the starting line-up at Bayern. (Premiershiplatest.com)
This Bayern pair are valued in the £30-35m bracket and they are both proven performers who would surely be fantastic signings if the north London club can persuade them to leave the Bundesliga club. Toni may be no spring chicken at 31 but he is at his peak after scoring 24 goals as he helped his club to the title in his debut season last term and has knocked in three this season. Podolski would be an awesome purchase as well and he has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League with Spurs and Manchester City being the main contenders for his signature. It would be quite a coup if the White Hart Lane outfit managed to snare one or both of these two but it could prove hard to clinch the deal if by January the side is still propping up the table. Do Spurs fans think that this pair could be the answer to their prayers or are there bigger changes needed at the club?

Toni is class as is Podolski and they would both be great signings but i just think that Ramos is beginning to lose it and maybe buying more players is not the answer, he needs to get rid of some more deadwood thats for sure, starting with Jenas

Pavlyuchenko is a lumbering unskillfull striker. He can score from set pieces but he is really an averagr player at best. King is finished even if he is one of the best when fit. The damage if having King playing one in three at best is more damaging than good as players cannot gain stability.
Dos Santos is looking fantastic, Bentley is sheer class, Bale has improved and the dynamic Hutton will soon be back.
GK - Gomes - Looks really good which is unusual for a Brazilian GK
LB - Bale - Probably the best prospect in British football
CB - King - Simply injury prone and a replacement a must
CB - Woodgate - Looking at his best and simply brilliant
RB - Hutton - Soon to return and one of the best around
LM - Dos Santos is the man and look great against Chelsea there - play him
CM - Jenas - Weak link and has to go and a new general bought
CM - Huddlestone - Why is he not playing him brilliant player
RM - Bentley is the new Beckham and more - irressistable
AM - Then play modric behind the front man where he is best
CF - Bent rubbish sell him
CF - Pavlyuchenko even worse sell him
CF - Fraizer Campbell looks a good prospect
Sign a classy player and forget getting Podolski and Toni. I would rather have Villa for $35 alone than that pair.

First off, Steve- find a big building and jump off, you embarrass Spurs fans everywhere.
Secondly, are you having a laugh? As much as I would love to see either of them for Spurs, I just don’t see it happening, especially not LT. We should focus on more attainable players, such as Radamel Falcao of River or, if City attract a Galactico type striker in January (which they may), maybe we can steal Elano or Benjani. Sorry, not getting much better than that.

I think we are all a tired of hearing rumour after rumour of Spurs signing this top player or that!! I don’t blame the Spurs board for selling Berbatov and Keane because these 2 players didn’t want to be with us anyway… But I also the board deserve a good kicking for not lining up the replacements before selling. And look where we are now. The bottom line on new signings: I’ll believe it when I see it.
