Everton officials have denied speculation the Premier League club is on the brink of being sold.
Reports had suggested a deal was at an advanced stage, linking chairman Bill Kenwright with a trip overseas for face-to-face talks with a potential buyer.
But a spokesman said: “Contrary to media reports, the club is not on the verge of being sold. Mr Kenwright spent the afternoon in his London office.”
Kenwright said last month that he is more active than ever in his search for new investment to support boss David Moyes’ team-building plans and he would consider selling - but only to the right investor. (Metro.co.uk)
It appears that the club is safe for now. However, if they want to make any noise at the top of the league, they’re going to need to find some magical funds quickly. Regardless, if supporters were expecting a white knight to save them, it doesn’t appear like that dream will be happening any time soon.
Who do you think the club should target with their funds in January? What position is currently in need of the most help?
