Spurs to bid for EXCELLENT £12m attacker: He could be just what Ramos needs!
by Mr Comfort on October 11th, 2008This much admired Croat is being linked with a move to a number of big clubs but apparently Juande is well in the hunt to bring this attacker to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are planning a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Darijo Srna.
The 26 year-old Croatia international is also being watched by Real Madrid and Liverpool and could be on his way in January.
Italian sources say Spurs boss Juande Ramos sees Srna as the man to solve his problems on his team’s wings and hope an offer of £12 million will convince Shakhtar to sell. (tribalfootball.com)
Dario Srna is a very adaptable player who can fill a number of positions across the midfield or indeed just behind the strikers and in many ways he could be the more affordable version of Andrei Arshavin and one who could very well be a realistic target for Tottenham boss Juande Ramos as he looks to add more attacking flair to his struggling side. A move in January may be more likely should Shakhtar have been eliminated from the Champions League by that point and that could well be the case especially after the Ukrainian side crashed to a late defeat at the hands of Barcelona a few weeks back. It may also be in the north London clubs favour that Donestk are way off the pace in their domestic league also and after five years at the club Srna may well be ready for a move and Dario may also prefer the fact he is more likely to get guaranteed first team action on a regular basis at Spurs than he would be at either Real Madrid or Liverpool. Who do Spurs fans think the club should bring in when the transfer window re-opens?

could be okay but before jan think we should play with a attack minded 4 5 1 with 2 holding midfeild players. bit like liverpool. it would look like this
gomas
chorluka woody king bale
zakoria o hara
lennon dos santos
modric
bent/pava
when king cant play gunter right back and corluka centre back. what do people think?
Joshua - October 11th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
I think your are forgetting Alan Hutton
John ADAM - October 11th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Spurs are depleted of their attacking force at the moment and do not look like being able to score and win matches. Until this problem is solved, they will continue lagging behind. So, I am happy that they are bringing in a new attacker in January. It could make a difference.

i like how u think woking yid thimnk we need to definetely buy another striker, needs experience and needs to be a target man like pav.
woking yid - October 11th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
hutton in when fit of course. modric just of a striker playing free and lennon and dos santos can really get forward knowing they have 2 holding players behind them

We need to stop trying to build around our injury prone captain. King is a great squad player who can be used from the bench in key European fixtures. That said we need a world class centre back to join Woody and I feel we need someone with strength and pace to compliment the very solid Woodgate. That said Corluka is not the man as he does not have the pace to really figure.
GK - Gomes
LB - Bale (Ekotto Squad)
CB - New World Class Player Needed (King Cover)
CB - Woodgate (Dawson Cover)
RB - Hutton (Corluka Cover)
This would be a solid defence that we can build around and use players in other competitions such as the Carling Cup, FA Cup and Uefa Cup games.
This extra world class centre back will need to be a Daniel Jarque level player and there are many option for around £10 Million.
Midfield is much better than we believe, and with the defence and attack sorted you may just see the quality shine through. The one issue is there are too many midfield options that create confusion and uncertainty within the team. Ramos needs to decide who is playing in what position and stick to it. My only concern is Jenas is simply not good enough to general the midfield and as such I would sell him whilst he is still probably worth £13 Million. Huddlestone look great and should be given a chance in the same position.
LM - Dos Santos
CM - Huddlestone
CM - Zokora
RM - Bentley
Stop moaning about Huddlestone and Zokora as they have not been given a certainty of position. I feel they would give us some real weight in midfield and Huddlestone has the passing flair with Zokora having the ability to surge forward.
Upfront I am bemused as we have the players already to do some damage. Dos Santos looks the perfect option for Bent and why we have not tried to establish that partnership is a mystery to me. Pavlyuchenko is simply not good enough and we need to let him go.
CF - Dos Santos
CF - Bent
Simply this team would be fine if we just let players hold down positions and familiarise themselves with each other as a unit. The moving around this year has been ridiculous and with players switching flanks and even position from midfield to defense.
If we need to spend money, and only if then we should sell Jenas and Pavlyuchenko and move for a world class defender, holding midfielder and striker. Perhaps Daniel Jarque, Gattusso and Arshavin would be great additions.

Can’t stop laughing at this club, and i always thought newcastle were the joke of the prem. Your a piss poor club without a league win to your name struggling at the very bottom of the league, and still you continue to speculate over who you are going to sign in the next transfer window, lol. Your SPurs fans are the best, honestly. Had it ever occurred to you that all the new faces you lot insist on buying every year may have something to do with your clubs capitulation?…Yet you want more new faces!? lol.
yiddownunder - October 11th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
agree somewhat with what you are saying Holy, but i would get rid of zokora, and place modric there, would like to see the signing of arshavin, then pair him with pav imo there is potential there for spurs as they do link up well for russia plus i would say to king we to start every week and then look at swapping with corluka later in the game until we get quality player in full time
spurs 4 lyf - October 12th, 2008 at 12:26 am
tottenham cannot play wiv one striker
Acton_Yid - October 12th, 2008 at 9:37 am
If you were going to play 4-4-2, it would look like this i think (when all 1st teamers fit):
Gomes
Hutton Corluka Woodgate Bale
Bentley Zokora O’Hara or Hudd Modric or Lennon
Bent Dos Santos or Campbell
that to me is the only selection capable of winning a game at the moment, as one poster said only Spurs can’t seem to play with just 1 striker and 2 holding mids…
H0TSPUR - October 12th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
I read the same old crap you come out with - planning team selections, our problems at the back. what I would do to score goals???? The fact is you all need lives - just like me!! I love our football club but not at the expense as sounding like ‘the comic book guys sad older brother’!! Your opinions, thoughts, “proposed signings” dont mean shit!! Get a life - spend some time with your kids & maybe try and fill that huge empty void by going to church with soul !!! C’mon people live life don’t just fantasise!!!! If you are now mocking my comment - add how many hours you spend living a life of fantasy!! c’mon people that could be better spent - Do a good deed, at least thats real and will actually give you a buzz (a real buzz)!
Mickey Spurs - October 12th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
Hey HoTSPUR, people like you make me sick. Telling people how to spend their spare time. You’ve just spent your time posting a comment telling people that posting comments is meaningless and for people that don’t have a life. Hello mr. pot. My name’s kettle. You’re black! These people live a life of fantasy?! Better off listening to metaphorical stories in church, of course. hmm.
Keep posting people! It seems to annoy people like this guy who I’d say has nothing in his life that makes him happy and doesn’t like seein people passionate about anything. Maybe an arsenal fan who sits quietly in the Emirates.
PS. Ramos can turn it around! Had his strikers taken away expected to produce goals from his butthole. Let’s get behind him and judge after he brings in a proper strike force.
PPS. I love posting. Fuck you HoTSPUR!

Paul - October 12th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Anyone who thinks O’Hara and Zokora are good enough are idiots, both hard workers but lack quality. O’Hara is to slow and not talented enough and Zokora is good at running with the ball, but other than that runs around like a headless chicken, giving the ball away and constantly out of position! Huddlestone has’nt got the legs, we desperately need a quality holding midfielder to allow Modric to start doing the buisness!
snowyid - October 12th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
paul i take it you didnt see jamie play at left back for the England under 21 side, the boy played a blinder and i like so many have said that should be his position, as for zokora he along with lennon are the only 2 spurs players that seem to be trying.
RAY - October 12th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
WE NEED A DEFENDER INSTEAD OF KING, WE CAN’T KEEP ON PLAYING KING EVERY NOW AND THEN, WE NEED A REGULAR DEFENCE,ALSO ANOTHER GOOD MIDFIELDER LIKE FAB OR DAVIDS,AND A WORLD STRIKER,THEN WE CAN COMPETE IN THE TOP FOUR.
onlyTHEbrave - October 12th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
why the hell are slow pav and lousy jenas still in the first team?? they seriously got to go.. sell them while they still have value..
woking yid - October 12th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
the team i put up is only untill jan when we can sign some players. modric of the striker is his perfect postion and the wide 2 would have so much freedom to attack with the holding players behind him
9torres - October 13th, 2008 at 8:21 am
world class player to cover king??? i think it’s more like a rarely fit king will be cover for the world class player!

makdeyid - October 13th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
I Would Play the following:-
Gomes
Hutton Corluka Woodgate Bale
Zokora Modric Huddleston
Dos Santos Bent Lennon
Use the 4 3 3 formation with pace keep Zokora and Huddleston as the def mids, Use Modric as the playmaker and use Dos Santos and lennon as the pace in attack alongside Bent or Pavlychenko. Just like chelski did with Robben and Duff.
-lfc- - October 13th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
it said in the sun that spurs have a back up plan to buy 3 ac milan players 2 defenders 1 midfielder but there all over 30 years old gattuso and i forget the other two
