Liverpool STAR set for £14m Exit: The club should do all it can to keep him at Anfield!

Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso admits he is still attracted to Juventus
The Spanish international was close to joining the Bianconeri but they decided to invest in other players instead. Alonso has revealed that he still has his heart set on the Old Lady and he has explained his reasons.

“Juventus is Juventus and they are the most important club in Italy but as a player, you can never be disappointed at Liverpool,” Alonso told Calciomercato.com.
“Certain things happened in the summer and I appreciated the directors honesty at the club. They told me that they would be doing things differently on the pitch and they decided to go for Poulsen instead of me.

“These things happen in football. I could have signed for Juve but I didn’t because they went for someone else.

“However, to be totally honest, the attraction on my part has remained intact. I like that way they [Juve] have been building. I like the directors and everything else there.”
La Vecchia Signora will be taking note for the January transfer window following Alonso’s latest revelations. (goal.com)

If Alonso has said these things and, given Rafa was all set to sell the Spaniard in the summer, it does seem inevitable that Xabi will leave the club sooner rather than later. If that is the case, then it’s a big shame for the supporters and the club as a whole because the midfielder is a class act. Valued at £14m, the former Real Sociedad man was seen by Benitez as a means to an end when the club needed the finances for a move for Gareth Barry, a move that of course fell through.

Now it appears that Xabi still hankers for a move to Turin and one can only imagine that Rafa will cash in. Do Liverpool fans think Alonso’s quotes seem to suggest his time at the club could be coming to an end?
