“Please stop linking me with Manchester City” demands former Arsenal striker
by stresster on October 13th, 2008It appears as though lazy journalists will have to find some new players to link with Manchester City, after their latest supposed target has dismissed talk of him moving to Eastlands in January. The hacks must be disappointed that this striker has chosen to come out and do this, can’t he just remain silent on the subject so that they can at least write another couple of columns, stating that the player is ‘really keen’ on a move and is ‘disappointed’ at his current club?
We all know that Thierry Henry won’t be signing for City next year, and now the media can stop trying to convince us that this has any chance of happening. The Press Association report that the Frenchman has been quick to nip these rumours in the bud, and point to the fact that he’s actually playing well for Barcelona at the moment.
“One thing’s for sure, the Manchester City thing and all the things you’re talking about need to stop,” he told France Football.
“I’ve played three matches in the league and I’ve scored twice. So there you go. I missed two (games) because I was ill.
“(Leo) Messi has been on the bench twice, (Samuel) Eto’o has been on the bench twice, (Dani) Alves hasn’t been in the side recently. The coach rotates players, but you don’t stop (talking) when it’s my turn. Talk about everyone!
“When (Carles) Puyol doesn’t play against Betis, when Alves isn’t in the group, when Messi doesn’t play against Santander, when Sam doesn’t play against Espanyol. If you’re going to talk, talk about everyone.”
Manchester City fans, who would you like to see Mark Hughes sign in January? And are Arsenal fans glad that Henry looks like staying put at Barcelona, rather than see their former striker join another Premier League club?

I seem to remeber his response when linked to Barcelona along the lines of being flattered to be linked to such a big club but he is only concentrating on AFC. Now he is linked to Man City he is offended and requests it to stop. Its a pity he did not do the same when he was at AFC and thus preventing the disruption to our young players at the time.
