Spurs line up great VALUE FOR MONEY £1m January signing!
by Mr Comfort on October 13th, 2008This England man has been linked with a move away from the JJB for about six months now and, whilst it seemed like a distant dream now, the price tag may well just be worth considering!
Wigan Athletic still face a battle to hold onto striker Emile Heskey.
The England international has declared he won’t ask away from the Latics in Janaury.
But the People says Heskey remains a Tottenham target and could leave Wigan for as little as £1m in January because he will only have six months remaining his contract.
Spurs failed in a deadline-day bid for Heskey in August but Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill remains favourite to snap up a player who played for the Ulsterman at Leicester.(tribalfootball.com)
I am not Emile Heskey’s biggest fan. I find the front man very one-dimensional and frankly over-the-hill. He was never that good to begin with, but recent performances for club and country have swayed me a little. If Ramos can indeed pick up the former Liverpool man for such a snip, then in the short-term, it may well be worth taking a punt on. The determined forward could well be the kind of signing that could be the catalyst to get the north London side firing on all cylinders and pushing away from the drop zone. Do Tottenham fans think that this would be a bargain signing or a step in the wrong direction?

Please no! A forward who can’t score?? What use is that to us! £1m or not, in my opinion, bad buy.

we currently have three forwards who can’t score anyway but none of them can play together, at least Hesky might bring them into the picture a bit. Just what Campbell and Bent need is a foil to hold up and play in. We also lose the ball in the final third before Modric, Jenas or Lennon can link up so someone like Heskey for £1million is superb. Lets consider the facts is Bent £15million better than Hesky??? No.

I cannot believe the sports writers are suggesting Heskey as Spurs c/forward. Out of 5 goals he scored none for England, I cannot remember him making a pass that assisted in a goal. Would England have missed him if he had been sent off?
Then ask a Gooner, Liverpool, Man City or Man Utd supporter if Pavlyuchenko, Bent or Heskey would get a game in their team?
Ask the football writers, if Spurs have flushed £33m down the toilet? Heskey is past it and would be as good as the other 2.
Now why did Comolli & Levy in the last 9mths sell 3 of some of the best strikers in the UK that would have got in the teams listed above?
Was it to line their own pockets?

THE ONLY GOOD THIS GUY WOULD BE GOOD FOR IS FOR THE STRIKERS TO LIFT HIM OF HIS FEET AND USE HIS HEAD AS A BATTERING RAMP TO OPEN UP DEFENCE`S , HE HAS NEVER GOT INTO DOUBLE FIGURE`S IN HIS LIFE HE NEEDS A FOOTBALL GROUND TO TURN ON WORSE THAN HUDDLESTONE FOR TURNING CAN`T JUMP , WHY THE HELL DO WE NEED HIM SAVE ALL OUR CASH FOR HUNTELAAR AND HIS WAGES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for the short term yes he wud be a good buy as not one of spurs´strikers can hold the ball up never mind score goals.the midfield and defence is constantly under pressure because of this fact.i myself am not his biggest fan but what spurs do not have is an imposing figure ANYWHERE in there team.thus having him would allow the midfield to join up and allow that woeful defence time and breathing space.and talents like campbell and dos santos and modric space to operate in.

You know your team is in a bad state when Journalists start linking you with Emile “Bruno” Heskey.
I’d rather pay 1m to get Teddy Shezler out of retirement!!!!

People seem to forget, whenever emile has played for england we have pretty much dominated the opposition (england germany 5-1 ring any bells?)
i think, bein a life long yid that heskey would be a bargain at 1 mill, i mean, who else are you gonna get at that price for the same amount of experience and talent.
Also id go for owen, im telling you, he would get us 15 goals from jan till end of season guaranteed
