Spurs set for £29m SUPERSTAR midfielder bid!
by Mr Comfort on October 13th, 2008According to this source, and many others, Juande Ramos is about to receive a hefty bid for a midfielder who only just arrived at White Hart Lane a few months ago!
The Bianconeri, like Spurs in the Premier League, have been struggling badly in Serie A. Many of their problems have stemmed from the lack of bright sparks in midfield.
Sporting director Alessio Secco has already looked at a few players based in England including Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso but the alarm bells are ringing from White Hart Lane as Modric has failed to make an impact following his £16m move from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer.
Secco is a keen admirer of the Croatian international and he is about to put his foot in it again as he is prepared to splash a massive €38m on the midfielder. (goal.com)
It would be fair to say that the impish Croat hasn’t exactly set the Premier League on fire, but he is a very talented player who was always going to take a while to bed into the top tier of English football, having only had experience in his native domestic league. I am not surprised that he is strongly linked with a move to the Serie A side, but I severely doubt that Luka would quit so soon and that the north London club would even sanction such a move.
Do Spurs fans think that the club needs more new faces in January, or will the club just have to patiently let their new signings get accustomed to playing alongside each other?

The team starts the season badly. This is NOT surprising ….. we have just lost two world class strikers and also pulled last year’s team apart. The rest of the league got their teams sorted ages ago, and we are still being introduced to one another. Either these players are going to come good or they are not. If not then time to sack whoever chose them (we all know who I mean). In the meantime we, as supporters have to stop jumping up and down calling for change, because that’s all we ever do and it doesn’t work. We need to settle and we need to build confidence. If people like you keep peddling every cheap rumour that comes round, in the end players like Modric and Bentley will sod off and we’ll definitely go down ………….
And YES we do need a couple of strikers and (surprise a defensive midfielder …..

Sell Modric - Over-rated
Sell Jenas - Vastly over-rated
Sell Bent - Awful and trying to brown nose Ramos to stay in with a chance
Sell Pavlyuchenko - Never been good and a waste of money, Arshavin made him look ok but that was nothing to do with Pavlyuchenko.
Sell King - Injury prone and stopping new talent from blossoming. Has to go even as good as he is when fit.
Get Arshavin, Gattusso and Jarque to replACE kING
ash - October 13th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
the sad thing is……..it would take Arshavin Gattusso and Jarque to replace King.

GRAB THE MONEY MODRIC IS HUGHLY OVERRATED SELL JENAS AS WELL HE IS WORSE THAN MODRIC AND AS FOR PAVLYUCHENKO A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AS WAS BENT A WASTE OF MONEY , SELL SPURS TO THE SUPER RICH LIKE MAN CITY AND THEN WE CAN GET WHO WE WANT ! ! ! ! ! IE IMAGINE HUNTELAAR , VILLA , ROBBEN , KAKA , DIAARA , GERRARD AND SUCH , THAT`S WHY WE MUST SELL BEFORE JANUARY TO GET WORLD CLASS PLAYERS IN TO START THE REVOLUTION ! ! ! ! DREAM DREAM DREAM DREAM WHEN I WANT YOU AND ALL YOUR TALENT ALL I HAVE TO DO IS DREAM DREAM DREAM DREAM DREAM !

Modric is not over-rated, however he is not worth £28m, so yes take the deal, although personally I’d like to see a different deal, Juventus have Sissoko, Poulsen and Tiago, any of those would be good for us, despite the fact they are new to the club, personally Poulsen would be my choice, maybe knock £10m off the deal, plus a player familiar to Ramos and a decent DM.
My feeling still is Juve will go for Alonso as he’s a much cheaper option and probably as good as Modric.

Sell Jenas and buy Veloso, keep Modric he is world class and will come right, get a world class centre half for King. Although Zakora gives his all we may sell him for a player like Mark Noble. We do need to sell Bent and get 2 world class strikers. We are at least 8 million pounds to the good after the summer purchases and sales and may come out square with the above purchases and sales.

When the average fans all have better solutions than the club we have a big problem. The sad thing is I genuinely feel that you could all be right!
ty1d3 - October 14th, 2008 at 2:06 pm
he needs to play dos santos more?
Mexican Spur - October 14th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
THumbs up for that Noble. Always said he’s a cracking player.
Mexican Spur - October 14th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Dos Santos has got a dodgy ankle. Barca knew and that’s why they let him go so cheap.
yid - October 14th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
its fuckin simple we NEED a good dm left winger n at least 1 fuckin good strikes fuck arshavin jus be more wasted money get owen he’d be mustard gotta go all out 2 get diarra think he’d work alot better wit modric let him shine we gotta sort this mess out
Mexican Spur - October 14th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
I reckon that Capel is the key to all this. Ramos wanted him at any cost in the summer, didnt get and look at the mess we are in on the left. Ref Dos Santos again, something’s up with him. He normally plays out of his skin, fast, precise passer, scores goals. Not at the mement … me thinks the ankle is worse than the medical showed.
spursy - October 14th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Guys
Guys.. whats the point of saying sell this and buy this.. be realistic in our current position how are we going to attract the likes of veloso, capel etc.. we have to be realistic.. we have got to achieve a bette posiiton to get those type of players first.. it makes me laugh that people say buy him ..sell him.. and think that will sort it all out.. a team takes time to gel and perform you can’t juts buy them and expect them to play.. the manager makes this happen..
EVERTON - October 14th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
foolish spurs fans, modric is a star…he maybe not adapt well yet in spurs. give him some time and he will improve…palyuchenko not so sure cause he is lazy…bently will regain his skill soon…bent…just sell him. it is impossible to buy kaka, miguel veloso if you are bottom in the league spursy is right…now spurs have excelent midfield,ok defence but only attack only…get good strikers is more than enough…maybe buy again defoe…or ashton??? west ham in debts…
DAVID SMITH - October 14th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
why are spurs fans ripping our team apart are you fucking blind cant you see if juve are willing to pay 28 or 30 million for somone who cant play in our league dosent that tell you somthing . well i will open your eyes our league is full and i meen full of drugs 3 that i now of if i no and iam just a ordinary bloke in the street living near the duracell bunnies in widnes then i must be priveleged . i new we would have a bad start when ramos put our players on this baby food it is no match for ephedrine and byceleconine and the new steroid . that has swept into the prem with all the money and pressure to aviod the sack. when these teams play eatch other any thing can happen like wigan hammering hull then hull beating us and arsenal with energey . stoke beating villa i could go on but i promise one thing if the fa dont clean are game up i will blow to the papers what i found out why a well nown england player cant perform aswell for england has he does for is club and another one retired early and whas also ten yards slower when he played for england . so leave our players alone we are a good team playing in a dirty league
spruntspur - October 14th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
we should stop worrying about money as we are one of the only clubs to stilll be making large profits. hold onto our good players, for god sake give modric and bently a chance. modric has just come to english football and we want to sell him hes hardly played many games to adapt!
get a holding mdf to play along side him, he will come good.
s4e - October 15th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
MODRIC IS A GOOD PLAYER, BUT RAMUS IS PLAYING HIM OUT OF POSITION,THE SAME GOES TO BENTLEY.ALSO YOU HAVE GOT TO GIVE THESE PLAYERS A CHANCE OTHERWISE WE START SELLING ALL THE PLAYERS.
