Tottenham ready for £18m PLAYMAKER bid: Surely he’s worth more and is going nowhere?

Apparently this Italian source suggests that Juventus will put in a bid for this Spurs new boy, but surely he won’t leave the club, at least not for such a paltry sum.

Juventus will test Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s resolve by placing an £18million bid for midfield playmaker Luka Modric.

The Croatian international only arrived in England this summer from Dynamo Zagreb, with the reputation as one of the most exciting talents in European football.

Certainly his performances at Euro 2008 whetted the appetite of the White Hart Lane faithful, but they have been disappointed with his performances thus far.

Reports in Italy’s Tuttosport claim Juventus are willing to make Modric their number one target in the New Year, with an offer of £18million set to be tabled. (fansfc.com)

I personally don’t believe that Modric will do a runner, but if the Spurs board were even considering cutting their losses on some of their summer purchases, then they sure as hell won’t accept such a bid for the Croatian international. It was always going to take a certain amount of time for the new signings to bed in with those already at the club, and Luka has not really impressed as yet. However, given time he will surely prove his worth.

Let’s face it, there are a number of players more in need of offloading than those who just arrived a few months ago, and I am sure all Tottenham fans know which players are just not giving their all to the cause. Do WHL fans think that Modric will stay at the club?
