Manchester United striker admits to being a bit rubbish at the moment

In the past week, we have heard Arsenal captain William Gallas confess that he’s struggling to find form at the moment, and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba admit that he sometimes switches off during matches. Now the disease has spread to Old Trafford, with one of their star players revealing that he’s gone completely off the boil at the moment, is his Manchester United future in doubt?

Sir Alex Ferguson will not be pleased to read the latest comments of Carlos Tevez, a striker who has dropped down the pecking order this season. The Argentine scored some crucial goals for the Red Devils last campaign, helping them to retain the Premier League title and win the Champions League. However, The Guardian reports that the 24-year-old is not enjoying life in a red shirt at the moment, and needs to rediscover his magic.

“I am not as dangerous as I used to be,” he said. “I am not as effective in the penalty area any more. That is something I have lost and something I have to get back. I used to score better goals, great goals. But something strange has happened.”

Is Tevez being a little hard on himself here? After all, the forward has got an incredible workrate and provides plenty of assists in addition to the goals he scores. It’s also important to remember that he’s only 24 and that all players have a dip in form at some stage. With the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov at Old Trafford, do Manchester United fans still think that the Argentine can cut it for the Red Devils?
