Newcastle may be without a permanent coach, but that hasn’t stopped current interim boss Joe Kinnear from writing a list down for the January window.
Kinnear is interim manager until owner Mike Ashley finds a buyer but, whatever happens, he is adamant that they need reinforcements.
“We are starting now, for the first time since I’ve been here, to analyse and make a list of areas where we need to improve,” Kinnear said last night, “and we will need five players in January.” (Telegraph)
Five transfer signings seem a bit ambitious, especially with the club currently shopping for a new owner. Regardless, Kinnear is correct, the club does need the added depth if they plan on staying in the middle of the pack.
