This Belgian’s agent clearly wants to earn his 15% by pushing all interested parties to make a swift move for his talented client. Wenger is reported to be keen on the international.

The agent of Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour admits he could move in January.
After confirming the interest of Arsenal in the youngster, agent Paul Stefani revealed: “There is nothing concrete.
“If an offer does arrive, Standard should really consider it. If the deal matches all parties, his departure is very possible.
“He could move in January, you never know. The Fellaini transfer was all concluded in a week, it just depends on if the club are willing to put the effort in, but anything could happen.” (tribalfootball.com)

Standard Liege rate the 20-year-old so highly that they have already made him captain, but it is widely believed that their determination to build a team around him will waiver if an offer in excess of £8million comes in. (goal.com)

Defour has shown his talent on the European stage in recent Standard Liege games against Liverpool and Everton, and he is also a big reason for the Belgian national team’s vast improvement in the country’s World Cup qualifiers. He does possess the qualities that Wenger tends to look for in a player. He is adaptable and can play across a number of positions in the midfield, being as impressive in the tackle as he is on the break.

He is not a big name and is the kind of player that Arsene would pick up for a relatively cheap price and make him into a household name, so this is one to keep an eye on. Do Gunners fans think that the Liege captain has what it takes to make an impact at the Emirates?
