Liverpool defender thanks workhorse STRIKER for saving his blushes: Are supporters concerned with his quality?

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has Dirk Kuyt to thank for saving his hide on Saturday. After a catastrophic mistake gave Wigan the lead in the match, Agger seemed to look unsettled the rest of the afternoon. He says things will be better from here on out.

“Of course I was pleased to start the game against Wigan, it was what I have been waiting for,” said Agger.

“It was a stupid mistake to make for their first goal but that’s football and you can’t afford to dwell on things like that, you have to carry on.

“Luckily enough we managed to go on and win the game and obviously I am very happy about that.

“It was a misunderstanding and I didn’t hear anything but it was my mistake and I can’t say anything more about it.

“Today was tough for me. It was really, really hard.

“Of course, it is a long time since I last played so I have to get used to it again and then I will improve.” (Liverpool ECHO)

I’m sure Rafa and the rest of the squad are fine with the mistake; but be assured that the Spaniard won’t let such lax play slide in the next match. After losing Skrtel until December, most Liverpool supporters figured the club would go on without skipping a beat. One can only hope that’s true, and that Agger’s blunder was due to a lack of first-team football.

Are Liverpool supporters concerned about having Agger at the back? Was this a one-time thing?
